Nice to see us in the blue again and with 2 items of good news in the pipeline the price should reflect the company's true worth at some point this year...

What the hell, why so illiquid? Market size of 1000 only?

Huge differences when you sell, up to 300 shares it's 82 and for anything above that is 77!!!!

anyone else seen that?

Just tipped in the famous portfolio of Simon thompson from Ic:

A small passage:

Catalysts for share price re-rating

Investors also seem to have overlooked the fact that we are set for a much improved trading performance when Global Energy reports half-year results in late September. That's because the company reported adjusted pre-tax profits of only $1.2m on revenues of $20m in the first half last year due to the downtime of the Tilodiran 2 well (126 days) during the six-month period. With that issue resolved, expect production to rise sharply. And with the company benefiting from the aforementioned $400,000 monthly cost savings at Tilodiran, then profits could easily more than double in the first half of this year, albeit form a low base.

With today's RNS I think GED management is no longer insider for a few weeks, because they have told the market where they are in the farm-out process etc. Hopefully we will see some insider buying now.

I have no doubt whatsoever but it happens every day somewhere and is just part of city/market life.
The good news is that the company will find a partner and thats good enough for me...

I wonder if the share price fall is related to the delay here? Which suggests insider trading.

Thanks lowflow. I bought in on the back of the IC recommendation, but haven't sold. From experience I know that these types of share go up and down without any rhyme or reason. GED certainly seems to be influenced by very low volume.

A few thoughts on the GED. Since the company reported full year result 27 Mars the stock has been trading down from the 100p level to 70p today. It seems like a number of shareholders are selling the stock because they are disappointed that the company has not yet announce a farm-out of the Bolivar block and that the company has not yet begun the second test on the Torcaz field. I think many of the guys selling the last few weeks is the same guys who bought the share on the back of Investor Chronicle recommendations in the end of 2012. I guess most of these investors didn't really know GED and was expecting news much quicker and now due to lack of knowledge about the company they are dumping the stock because the Bolivar farm-out hasn't come through yet.
The full year result was a bit disappointing due to the lack of profitability from the Llanos production but to be fair I don't think too many of GED shareholders bought the stock because of the Llanos production. For me the Llanos production has always been a source of cash flow to keep the company going until they can potentially realize the values from Bolivar and Torcaz which on their own are company makers. Even though profitability for the last year was on the low side the Llanos production is still throwing of enough cash to keep the company in good shape while they are continuing to explore the Bolivar and Torcaz fields, even thou the development takes much more time than anyone could hope for.

Another way of looking at the current situation is to look at the significant insider buying the CEO, Chairman and board member did in the second part of November and first half of December 2012.

What I think is interesting is that the CEO increased his holding from the 19 Nov to 4 Dec from 122568 shares to 322068 shares. And if you have followed the company for some time you know that the CEO is a very conservative guy and his holding in the company has been around 100000 shares over the last 10 years since the company was listed on AIM, but now suddenly he increases his holding with approximately 200%. Because he bought the shares only a month before the year end the CEO clearly knew the production and profitability for the year which was announced 27 Mars 2013 when all shareholders begun to dump the stock. I guess the CEO is fairly confident that they will be able to close a good farm-out on Bolivar and was expecting a good development of Bocachico or otherwise he must have lost his mind when he bought app. 200k shares late last year while knowing the full year result which seems to scare all other shareholders.
Since the stock price begun to fall neither member of the board or management has bought shares, which could be a bit worrisome but according to GED fabulous IR woman, Anna Williams, the company is currently in a closed period due to the ongoing Bolivar farm-out.

I bought in a couple of weeks ago @ 83p and although now under water I am holding my nerve.
Net assets are 149p and oil is flowing, its just a case of waiting for news on the deal to bring in a major player.
This news is possibly expected during Q2 of this year and so any negative movement against a backdrop of no news isn't too worrying.
Frustrating yes, worrying no...
