43-101? As for the project a good move
A 43-101 will bring in US$ 50M without problem
and a lot of market awareness
Is this the turning point?

How much better it would have been to buy the metal than this wretched share.

I am getting tired, as I am sure we all are, of Mr. Telford's messages about the wickedness of those exploiting the Congolese and our wonderful prospects in Eritrea when all we really want is news about the deal with Starck on Abu Dabbab.
If Starck does not want the production from AD, does anyone else?

Most commodities are following the stock market down, but TA is rising ... very good sign indeed

the financing will not be a problem if GIP have a solid offtake agreement to supply HC Starck ... basically the offtake agreement will guarantee that the financing will be repaid to the lender

Lets just hope for once JT isn't crying wolf

JoA - we sure have !!

Like you, I am suspending belief until off-take and finance news is forthcoming. But as long as GIP can stay solvent there has to be little doubt that they still have an excellent project at AD.

Well spotted Chipper. This is what has obviously been moving the price in the last few days. I guess Starck have switched everything back on. The question that is still unanswered is if the finance is progressing at the same rate. After all if JT expects to be producing within 2 years the finance will need to be finalised pretty quickly.

God, we have needed the patience of Job on this one!

This is a pretty positive statement by JT!

"Gippsland will blow people 'out of the water', says Telford
London 17 June 2010 13:59

Gippsland's Abu Dabbab tantalum-tin project will set a new standard for the cash cost of tantalum production when it comes online in around two years, according to ceo Jack Telford. "The project is progressing well; we have completed a full definitive feasibility study and an EIA [environmental impact assessment] to World Bank standards. We are presently putting finishing touches to our off-take agreement and getting ready to push the button. We're confident that by mid- to late-2012 we will have our first output," Telford told MB. "We're not overly concerned about the competition; our cost of production will be extremely low, setting a new standard for... "

GIP -Actually ,IMHO,in place of wandering about rock- kicking ,it would be nice if they could splash out on a spade to make a start in digging up SOMETHING !
I was under the impression that the last fund raising ,equity dilution exercise , was a prelude to this end ......No ?

Lol!

Exploration results from Eritrea. The 10.63% copper assay is a bit of a headline-grabber. It would be very nice if they could repeat it over a decent tonnage eventually!

Tantalite price continues on the rise!

From Asian Miner:

"International market continues to be extremely tight. After a Chinese Tantalite consumer won the bidding late May at a high price of around USD63/lb."

HC Starck seemed to have got things sorted ...

"Senior and mezzanine lenders have agreed a consensual restructuring of HC Starck, a German speciality chemicals business with debts of around €900m."

Good find Chip ... So the TA shortage appears to be real

Hopefully HC Stark's house is now back in order and if the TA price is moving upwards you would think they would want to finalise the deal

Tantalising article!

"Prices soared as tantalum seller failed to supply
London 10 June 2010 16:44

A tantalum supplier has allegedly failed to deliver against contracts for material that may be worth a total of as much as $1.8 million at today's prices, according to well-placed market sources. The company's alleged failure to supply three buyers forced them back into the market, which helped drive prices upwards, a market source...

GIP-- Dig Media have welcomed Gip onto their featured co's list and give a comprehensive run down on just why the the ABU site is such a perfect and desirable location to obtain possibly the whole world's requirement for Tantalum for the next 20 years at least!

Nothing stated adds to what the stalwart crew of the goodship' Gippsland' do not already know and furthermore does not shed any light on the TIMESCALE involved in actually starting date........which is what we all want to hear ........

Nonetheless ,Fans -worth checking out !

GIP---Well, we are nearly half way through 2010.

Still no news on Financing for the Abu project ,nor confirmation that the design for the mine infrastructure has been started or is even on the drawing board !

All we receive is reports of Jack sweet-talking some dusky Arabian Princess on to a supervisory position [whatever that may mean]!

I sometimes wonder why this firm exists !
