GILF17 "But, we don't want to either sell or short these shares so your attempts to influence us into poor decision making are really very irritating." Exactly, but why doesn't that apply to the author of this "happy clappy" thread?

What's bad for the Greatland threads will also be bad for the Gemfields threads.

IT CAN'T BE ALL ONE WAY!

Gilf17 you say and I quote "But, we don't want to either sell or short these shares so your attempts to influence us into poor decision making are really very irritating."I didn't realise you spoke for everyone, including the people who stumble on this happy clapper bb for the first time. The facts are you don't speak for everyone, even if in your head you think you do. I am just adding balance. Put your hands on your eyes and filter me then you won't have to be irritated by me from this point on.

The doubts may be cleared in your mind. I suppose they would be as you are the guy who has at least 50 percent of the posts on this thread. It's your thread, how dare anyone come on here and have a different view. If you are happy ignoring risk then that's fine, but I like to invest with my eyes open. I expect a reply within the next hour as you constantly monitor this thread.A family morning for me and then golf and a 50th this evening. I won't be around for your reply as I have a life to live.

teacup please take your personal grudge with saracen and message him privately but not on here.

If you study the history here properly there was a very direly worded RNS last June re: insurgents and the share price fell 10-15% before being back to the same level within a month.

Again don't attack the company or post misleading comments because of your personal grudge with a certain poster.

GEM would drop like a stone (no pun intended) at any hint of political disruption. You pay your money and take your chance here.

That's a good answer and should there be a sell off by any or a seachange in directorship jump with them and don't look back. All IMHO.

Well if the worst happens look at what the directors stand to lose...

Patrick Sacco 328 MILLION shares
Wiese 160 MILLION shares
Sean Gilbertson 12 MILLION shares
Mmela 8.3 MILLION shares

Directors have skin in the game, considerable amount don't you think?
Far more than any PI

That's the problem, the West wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the oil, gas and rubies. Having invested in Ukraine for over 20 years you always think these jurisdictions will get their act together but because of the resources carrot and weak government a corrupt mob, posing as nationalists or fundamentalists, end up stealing the asset and your investment never reaches the expected shareholder value. Even when the West does intervene they can't stay indefinitely and a change of Government follows a change in foreign policy. Russia, the former Soviet Union, South America and most of Africa I haven't got the stomach for it anymore. Day trading is different and I may be tempted but I wouldn't put it in an ISA, especially now the dollar is weaker and these countries are having to pay their debts with oil, gold and other precious resources by nationalising them.

Should be added the US and West have a vested interest in this region and are providing man power and funds to help the security situation.
US officials have been in the region this week I know.

News from 2021 really ?

The army in Cabo Delgardo is based in Montepuez where the ruby mine is located and is actively making sure that the mine stays open as it is the largest tax payer in the province.

And the 2 mines that produce over $300m revenue have not be revalued for years.

Sorry to have offended but you won't make long term profits listening to posters on BB. The poster keeps posting the same stuff day in day out - that's not research or particularly informative imo. If you still don't like my views just block me

That's a pretty offensive comment Davros as Saracen provides all the information a new investor needs to make an informed judgement about this Company. When I look to find something new, the quality of information on the BB is somewhere I pay attention to, as you can backtrack the reason for movements in the share price. I for one have been very appreciative of his posts, and several others like him.

You realise Saracen that the share price movement does not reflect your posting multiple each day. I'm long but tbh I tend to get less bullish once a share attracts repeated ramps like this

It will be interesting with S Africa closed tomorrow. The different XD dates created arbitrage opportunities and we moved some across to get 2 dividends.

Would expect to see some reinvesting the dividend when it is paid on 12th May.

And still no sign of the buy back.

Diamond prices have been picking up which augers well for the 2 upcoming auctions of quality stones.

All other things equal it should open at a Mid-market of @16.6p - we'll see.

Like D746 I banked the profit - again we'll find out tomorrow if that was a good or bad decision.
