Strangely quiet, which is usual a good thing, have added to my small core holding GLA holders for tomorrow, whatever happens looks like one to hold.

At end 2022 Gemfields had $173m cash, £142m = 11.4p per share

and have promised to return excess cash to shareholders.

2 world class mines producing $316m revenue, Faberge and a stake in a SA platinum

miner all in for 5.6p .

Assore Group owns 27%. Rerating overdue.

Results and dividend due tomorrow.

Am hoping for a final of 1.9c, a 50% increase from the interim for a yield of 15%.

Would expect the 50m share buy back to commence after the figures.

Results of an emerald auction due out on Monday.

Dual listed in S Africa and whilst the share price there, 375c is stable, the Rand has fallen 10% this year due to the corruption inquiry and power shortages.

They announced that the buy back had commenced but then went straight into the close

period, something they should have explained.

Am expecting the buy back to commence after the figures next Friday.

I believe there are no disruption to ruby production apart from the enhanced security risk.

I don't post that much. But a couple of questions for those more familiar with things. I thought they were doing a share buy back but normally these are RNSd by other companies on a daily basis when this happens - but I see none here. Are they happening?Also re the recent temporary close due to the insurgence which seems to be dragging on, do we know what proportion of the business it is affecting?Thanks

Yes absolutely, any takeover would be purchasing 140m cash and a very profitable business.

Up to the Company to promote itself after 3 years or Assore with 26% will take them out far too cheap.

Not a PE of 4, add the cash to receivables, turn to gbp then take it off market cap gives you a 45m business valuation. They made over 100m pre tax last year so PE is under 0.5. Absolute madness that will change when investors catch on. Yes there is political risk being in africa but pe should be 5-10 given the bedrock balance sheet.

P/E of 4 dividend yield of 12% plus, 13p cash in the bank and Faberge, stake in SA platinum Co worth 2p per share , and the World`s largest emerald and ruby mines that produce over $330m in sales. So undervalued.

Results and dividend news next Friday week. We will find out how commited the co is in its promises to return cash to shareholders. Hoping for a 2 cent final as a minimum. Also hoping they get out and tell the story at last.
