Most likely a sell mate to avoid SA tax. UK price just keeps going down.

4.5million shares traded at 400c in S Africa so far today. Someone wants the huge dividend.

The chart shapes like a semi circle, to complete the pattern it should have continued to fall from the highs but instead showed strength and broke out from the line. Sets us up for an interesting attack on the 19-20p resistance. I have no idea whether it can get through and stay above 20p but the chart combined with fundamentals suggests the potential for a very large move north if it can punch through. Tbh though I'm happy for it to fail and drop so I can load up more on ex div date.

I've added to my share ISA today and bought another £5000 worth. Gambling the kids inheritance is much more fun than leaving the money in the bank! Will now get about £3500 in tax free dividends in May!

I don't think GEM (LON) has broken out of this consolidation yet - at least, not the pattern which has been building since early 2022. I'd agree that the 19-20p zone is that area. And if it does break, the target is a healthy 24p.

JSE chart looks like upward pressure is building.

The chart has nicely broken the consolidation pattern and points to a break higher. It needs to close 20p or above to confirm and gain traction but if it does this should go way higher. Question is though do I want this higher, at this price I can reinvest a 20% annual return and add more funds from other sales as they come to fruition.

I believe SA with-holding tax is 20%. Also gem prices were at a peak in 2022 I understand so unlikely profits will be matched in 2023 but still lowly rated mid single digit P/E

London buyers include AIM Inheritance Funds.

Buyers in London, a seller in S Africa. London holders dont get charged SA witholding tax on the huge dividend.

Just seen a purchase of 3,500,000 shares at 18.1785. That's a hefty investment!!

And if the mandate to buy back $10m of shares is not carried out we can expect that sum to be added to the interim dividend.

3.8m traded in SA now. Real dealing spread looks like 18-18.4p.

It's annoying they don't close the spread here when the very few sales yesterday were around 17.8p. Instead of 17.5/18.50 it should at least be 17.75/18.50.

Walletinvestor has raised 12 month target to 497 cents, 22.3p.
PE of 4x dividend yield 20%. Relating overdue.
