Looks like Acuant and Idology have merged to form "GBG - Americas" (from Acuant website.

Idology have got a new look website (about time!)

Not sure, but I think Chris(tine) Luttrell has got the top job.

All to be expected after the aquisition, but nice to see it's done and the pivot to USA for Identity is confirmed.

We usually have a significant rise in the share price in the few weeks before trading/results announcements. We have a trading update at the end of April so it will be interesting to see if we get this rise.

We have had this conversation it got to over 980 I know because I traded a few there at 971.634 and recall I hadn't sold at the high that was 22 Oct 20. Also when it dropped I bought them back then it went back up and I sold the same lot 29 Dec 20 at 947.5351 it was all over the place. As for saying 10 pounds that's just a round up to 98 percent or so of the correct number

There are recent(ish) Italian and Spanish versions of Loqate as well, which kind of indicates that they are confident enough to push into Europe

I'm just going by the careers section from the website, it's a rough guide but interesting to see what roles they are recruiting

Mr Skanking How do you know they are hiring

I reckon the recent price has been driven by the general move away from highly valued Tech companies mainly due to the likelihood of increasing interest rates and the consequent reduction in value of future earnings. And secondly by the high multiple paid for Acuant.

However GBG is profitable, in a growing market and is very well managed. It seems that Loqate is doing well and expanding into Europe. The investigate role looks to be a new area of growth and they keep hiring.

We'll just have to wait and see how well Acuant has been integrated in the results announcement

IMO covid chased up the share price to an unprecedented level and people bought in then it started to slowly fade until the acquisition and then it plunged. I'm of the opinion where we are isn't terrible but as we have seen a price almost 85% higher expectations still run high. I'm not sure if we will see £10 again in the next three years unless there's a big uplift in profit . Any opinion.

Yep, that 'expensive multiple' certainly helped trash the share price

Analysts at Berenberg lowered their target price on software and services firm GB Group on Wednesday but stated the stock still represented "a good buying opportunity".

Berenberg stated that having optimised its data collection process, GB Group offered a scalable platform that can automatically apply different workflows depending on the use case – be it during customer onboarding or for ongoing monitoring.

The German bank stated this compounder benefitted from "high revenue visibility", up to roughly 80% of group revenues, good operating leverage and industry tailwinds, and also noted the firm had delivered a roughly 20% earnings per share compound annual growth rate over 2013-21 and about 100% cash conversion.

Following GB's acquisition of Acuant in November at "an expensive multiple", the stock slumped approximately 40%. However, over the medium term, Berenberg said this could turn out to be "a good strategic move" if the revenue synergies it expects from the deal flow through.

"We reduce our price target to 850p to reflect lower peer multiples, however with the stock trading at c27x 2023 P/E, a 10% discount to its five-year average of 30x (excluding the valuation spike during the COVID-19 period), we think now is a good time to start building a position in this company with a multi-year view," said the analysts, who stood by their 'buy' rating on the stock.

I sold all of my holding when they paid a PE of 50+ for the US acquisition, recently dipped my small toe back in, happy to top up sub £4.

Having sold half of my holdings at 9+ i never believed it would fall to 5+ so quickly. Obviously the dealers have no confidence at present. It will take a couple of years possibly to see the possible upward move after the new purchases are bedded in. To sell now is the big question? PS (been here since 30p)
