13/4/2014 20:47 | Interesting listening to the debate. And I agree the RNS says nothing. However, the chart looks very strong and I tend to avoid the "noise" and follow what the chart is telling me, which is a powerful uptrend forming up to the 200dma hopefully. Good luck all | essential
13/4/2014 11:57 | Welcome back trident5 even if it is only a watching eye. I suspect many investors are watching now to see how the company changes pan out and also to see if our "Acting CEO" has the balls to appoint a "Real CEO" and become a proper listed company again. The problem with Kirby is he is very very immature. He behaves more like an 18 year old nerd than a CEO of a listed company. It frustrates me each year that Kirby is unable or unwilling to give a meaningful interim update. Of course, we should not in normal circumstances be talking of a listed company as if it was a person - but that is what we have here. A one man listed company with a few hopeless lackeys acting as directors. Very unusual and most definitely against Governance Rules in many ways. But that just signals to the world how immature Kirby is that he genuinely believes he is above UK Governance Rules and can call himself Acting CEO when he has made it clear to shareholders he is not recruiting for a CEO and has no plans to. | nod
13/4/2014 08:45 | 2M - fair point. I've done very well out of GAW twice in the past. It's obviously an excellent niche business - the lack of competition, margins and ROCE prove that. But whilst I keep an eye on it, I haven't been tempted back in and thinking about it - that's down to worries about whether they can raise additional sales. Turnover has been flat in recent years and with the annual price hikes and US expansion one has got to assume that unit volumes are in a trending decline. Kirby writes very well in the annual reports, but I think they could make more effort with investor communications; otherwise one is left to assume that it's not a great story to tell. | trident5
12/4/2014 14:23 | " RNS Number : 2954O Games Workshop Group PLC 18 September 2013 ................ INTERIM MANAGEMENT STATEMENT .................... "In the three months to 1 September 2013 trading has been broadly in line with the board's expectations." " and the board's expectations were clear in the RNS of the 16th Jan 2014..... when they announced a decline in revenue, and passed the dividend. So, was that what they expected, or not? Did they expect to pass the dividend? It is quite possible that they have revised down their own expectations even further, so they won't be 'surprised' if there is another slide in sales. The rest of us are absolutely none the wiser, in the meanwhile. | 2magpies
12/4/2014 05:44 | Rodeo Games' Warhammer Quest is Apple's Free App of the Week. The mobile game is based on the Games Workshop tabletop version that was popular in the 80s and 90s. The game normally retails for $4.99 on the Apple App Store, but it will be available free of charge until April 17, 2014.Warhammer Quest is an RPG / strategy game set in a fantasy medieval world filled with elves, dwarfs and so on. The game has been met with mostly positive reviews since its launch, however, it does take a little patience and a lot of love for the genre to get totally immersed.Warhammer Quest does feature in-app purchases so you can quickly upgrade your gear or level up, but players do not need to spend lots of real cash to enjoy the game. You can also buy additional heroes and expansion packs, but once again this isn't necessary. It's big at 900MB installed | nod
12/4/2014 04:52 | I think Tom Kirby sees investor relations as a game. We are on the quest for information. We find the IMS - open it - it's empty. Damn it. We will have to look elsewhere. IMS 19th April 2013 - look familiar?Games Workshop Group PLC today issues the following interim management statement for the period 3 December 2012 to 7 April 2013.In the four months to 7 April 2013 trading has been broadly in line with the board's expectations.IMS 20 April 2012 - look familiar?Games Workshop Group PLC today issues the following interim management statement for the period 28 November 2011 to 1 April 2012.In the four months to 1 April 2012 trading has been broadly in line with the board's expectations. | nod

11/4/2014 08:12 | If it's good news, managements are never backward in coming forward. They have said nothing about sales. Hmm. | 2magpies

31/3/2014 16:50 | They are in excellent locations where I know rents are cheap but still close enough for passing trade. In particular, Putney. | woozle1
31/3/2014 16:38 | Wooz Perhaps they are better located/managed/pres Also, perhaps, it says something about the (male) populace of Kingston/Putney. | 2magpies

31/3/2014 15:38 | Ting Tong, there you go: using an alias now are you? Only you could think of licking a window! Clearly the 'hobby' isn't giving you enough of a thrill. No wonder sales are declining. | 2magpies
31/3/2014 14:25 | Magpies - I went to a GW at the weekend. It was Sunday actually around 11:00am. Window was filthly - do you want the location so you can go and give it a lick? | mozy123 |
