10/11/2020 10:30 | @1rcl Which newswire is that on | ![]() tictac
10/11/2020 10:23 | On the newswire, Jefferies raise their GAW price target to £124 (from their previous target of £89). | 1rcl
10/11/2020 10:03 | Tweet by Daniel Coatsworth... Jefferies on Games Workshop's recent trading update: 'We assume FY rev growth +26%. This results in FY21 PBT of £134m - an upgrade of +61% since our expectations at the FY results in July - and we see upside risk to this estimate.' | ![]() shanklin
10/11/2020 09:41 | I, as well as the market, appears to be confused. Vaccine news >> sell-off of Games' stocks. Whereas: No timeline, if at all, for a vaccine. Bullish trading statement. Hiding at home for Christmas awaiting vaccine > more games. Vaccine would encourage full operation of physical retail (bullish) EPS growth for FY21 (pay 40x for 322p = £129 sp). So, yeah, let's sell the stock, why not ;-)? As Nod says maybe folks want to sell profits and invest in travel company losses, why not? | ![]() sogoesit
10/11/2020 09:25 | Edison do use a lot of words to say they don't have a clue what is going on due to the lack of information in the TS. | ![]() shanklin
10/11/2020 09:04 | Edison upgrade forward FY21 EPS to 322.7p (PBT £132.4m) : | ![]() sogoesit
09/11/2020 18:28 | There are around six institutional investors in GAW who may want to speculate in the leisure and travel sector on the back of a vaccine. Some will take profits from GAW to speculate elsewhere. However, things still look bleak for leisure and travel for the near future. | nod
09/11/2020 18:10 | Given the, albeit barebones, trading update on Friday afternoon, I would have thought some new broker estimates/targets would be released this week (I'm assuming higher than previous ones). | 1rcl
09/11/2020 18:01 | The same way recovery stocks started going up before the news - market normally knows early somehow... I bought some eod - hope not prematurely | ![]() nimbo1
09/11/2020 16:30 | The sell-off in GAW started a couple of hours before the Pfizer news broke, so perhaps there was some profit-taking taking place and/or Sanford Deland reducing their holding as mentioned earlier. | ![]() robinnicolson
09/11/2020 15:48 | Presumably the Buffetology fund was/will be forced to sell more after the TS, as they would have once again had more than 10% in GAW. Obviously no idea specifically when or if they did this. | ![]() shanklin
09/11/2020 15:42 | I find the good for COVID, bad for GAW viewpoint a bit too silly to take seriously. Something else is going on, Perhaps there is a big fund selling off to reduce the size of their holding? | ![]() epo001
09/11/2020 15:22 | Thanks for the sale!!! :) I've added more to my holding. No logic, this should be positive. Stores will be open again soon and even more revenue. :) It was 12000 earlier, then nearly back to 10000. Bonkers! Trying to buy more, but can't get into my online broker :( | ![]() mjc70
09/11/2020 15:11 | I would have thought that an end of lockdown would be great for GW, because people spent all lockdown buying and painting new models, and now (end of 2021) they can go out and use them :) | ![]() bisho4
09/11/2020 14:47 | Blimey, I had not realised the whole business model here is dependent on a global pandemic :-) | ![]() shanklin
09/11/2020 14:38 | Yes lots of shares doing well out of covid not doing so well today. But this is still a great share and I'm not selling. Suet | ![]() suetballs

09/11/2020 14:29 | Well, GAW sharply down today. | ![]() epo001
09/11/2020 14:28 | epo - we all know there are still hurdles to jump but compared to yesterday the covid picture is very much brighter. And the generally blue stock markets think so to. Suet | ![]() suetballs
09/11/2020 12:52 | Off topic but press releases have no therapeutic benefit. Vaccines have to undergo extensive trials, get manufactured, get distributed and then get applied to people. Emergency services, health workers and military will be head of the queue, followed by the wrinklies. If it is like the flu and mutates, you'll need a new jab a year or so later. I really think that, albeit somewhat toned down, now is the new normal. What is not good for the share price is the customer base losing disposable income which continued lockdowns make inevitable | ![]() epo001
09/11/2020 12:37 | A vaccine - not so good for the share price here but well done the chemists. Suet | ![]() suetballs
09/11/2020 08:59 | There's a few companies in Nottingham that have been formed by ex-GAW staff. Mantic Games is another. Battlefront Games also have an operation in Nottingham but have their HQ in NZ after their founder, a former GAW staffer, emigrated there. | ![]() skirbell |
