20/8/2020 11:49 | That Panmore Gordon valuation is based on 7.6% cashflow CAGR for the next 15 years !! Seems potentially optimistic. | stepone68

20/8/2020 11:06 | Yep, as nod alluded to, if you're a growth (or long momentum) stock investor you will likely always be buying/entering at a "top" (higher highs higher lows). On trailing measures it will always look "over-valued". The trick is to gauge how much the market will pay for future growth and align your perception with the market's perception. A good growth stock will have a reasonably narrow upward channel so although "buying the dips" is a good tactic for entry you still have to gauge whether the market will continue paying a high price. Conclusion: if you're convinced a stock has long term growth then buying at a short term top shouldn't worry you. | sogoesit
20/8/2020 11:03 | The Panmure Gordon note is available on FT's Alphaville. | robinnicolson
20/8/2020 10:00 | WOW! That's blown away the conservative forecasts. | nod
20/8/2020 09:05 | Panmure Gordon has initiated coverage of Games Workshop Group with a Buy rating, price target 12000.00p | glaws2
19/8/2020 07:38 | Only four months to Christmas ... GAW looking to capitalise on the huge growth in tabletop board games. They have plenty of IP to use by themselves or third parties. Games Workshop to release new Warhammer and Blitz Bowl board games It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas with Games Workshop gearing up to release not one, not two, but three new board games. | nod
19/8/2020 07:30 | With a high-growth company all historical technical measures will make the company look over-priced at today's market price. The broker forecasts have (as it turned out) always been conservative forecasts, so forward-looking technical indicators have also missed the mark. I think its fair to say the growth of GAW over the past decade, and especially over the past four years, has astounded everyone, including the Directors and those major shareholders who took profits too early. I'm sure if, four years ago, the current Directors had foreseen 80 quid they would have held all the shares they were given, AND also bought some at 5 quid (our Directors are very well paid). This is where I take my hat off to Tom Kirby - he held significant amounts of shares long after retirement. He still holds a significant amount after his recent sales. | nod
18/8/2020 13:37 | If you're going to use the sharepad rsi figure to justify your investments, then you should understand how it's calculated. RSI can be calculated over different time periods and will get different answers. Looking at the FT page for GAW ( the RSI is looking borderline overbought for any time period over about 3 weeks. I was just wondering how sharepad calculates it, because I don't see the 38 figure you mention above. | stepone68
18/8/2020 12:45 | why on earth would I bother worrying about that?! | nimbo1
18/8/2020 12:00 | How are sharepad calculating RSI? | stepone68
18/8/2020 11:19 | All stocks behave their own way. No need to compare it to other stocks - I can see the 10 year history for gaw rsi on sharepad. Peak when overbought about 78 and average lows of last few years around where we are now of about 38... so it’s currently oversold! | nimbo1
18/8/2020 10:17 | bobaxe1, Absolutely no-one knows what the share price of Games Workshop will do over the short term. However I do recommend listening to this recent interview with Nick Train, particularly from about the 21 minute mark, where he talks about running long term winners and multi-baggers. | robinnicolson
18/8/2020 09:37 | Surely you need to compare it to historical norm for other stocks? | stepone68
18/8/2020 09:31 | Its definitely not overbought - pretty easy way of checking - look at the rsi compared to historical norms for the stock! | nimbo1
17/8/2020 17:32 | Sorry, bobaxe1, but I've forgotten where I parked the time machine. | vprt
17/8/2020 17:30 | Anyone know where we're going share price wise, hoping we're not overbought atm. | bobaxe1
17/8/2020 04:06 | Kevin would have benefited if he had held all his issued shares for the long term. Or, if he had bought some on the open the market 10-12 years ago. He has held senior posts for many years but has not purchased shares in the company. | nod
15/8/2020 18:24 | Looks like 500,000 @ £87.50. One thing is certain, Tom is financially benefiting from Kevin Rountree's stewardship of the company to a far greater extent than Kevin ever will. | cockerhoop
14/8/2020 19:00 | Former CEO and Chairman, Tom Kirby, sold over 1% of GAW (perhaps around 1.5%) of his near 4% holding on Thursday 13th August. As this sale takes Tom's holding below the 3% reporting threshold, we will not be notified of his future sales via an RNS.Tom had his critics but he built the fortress foundations and moat on which our company stands today. | nod

14/8/2020 10:24 | There are specialist comic sellers who might have listings and, of course, ebay. On ebay white dwarf magazine from 1983 is currently about £8.50, buy it now incl postage. The trio of demand, scarcity and condition all apply. They are probably scarce but is there demand? If there is, condition determines price. | epo001
12/8/2020 14:43 | Asking for a friend.... ...any idea please if there would be much interest in second GAW magazines from the 1990s or are they ten a penny. If of any value, where should they try and sell them please? | shanklin
10/8/2020 05:58 | Robin, interesting article. The photo reminds me that the only hobby better for social distancing is sword fighting. | nod
