When you look across the retail sector in general and all the big names struggling you have to take your hat off to GAME with their performance, a company with £58m in the bank, near £1b turnover and access to £130m and to have a market cap of only £48m is quite baffling

Mike Ashley has loads of under-utilised space in the newly-acquired House of Fraser stores - especially on upper floors, where space is very cheaply rented. So that seems to me an ideal space to sublet cheaply to the BELONG JV between Sports Direct and GMD.

Jin - I agree. The HY numbers will include the impact from the storms in Feb and March and the very high temperatures in June both impacting sales. I don't hold out much hope for Belong (yet) I don't think the take up has been that strong (as per my previous post)and our Ashley gets 50% of profits anyway.

To me there is no doubt the High Street will become a entertainment hub but that's going to take time. Still the recent strength is good.

Yesterday GMD broke through the first of four resistance points. It is now close to the second which is at 32.95. Let's see if and when that occurs.

My charts are indicating that this might break out today. The resistance is at 27.819 which if broken, will lead up to the next resistance at 32.95. Once that is broken, then a strong bull trend will be confirmed.

It is possible someone is trying to artificially break this out (there was a weird trade yesterday at 29)so I'll be watching to see if the (customary) sell trade at 4.29pm happens today and if it keeps it below the 27.819 resistance.

I'm a holder and looking forward to riding this up to 60p again.

Yes, absolutely. Food and beverage sales are important sources of income and the associated shop seem a meaningful boost to sales from the increased footfall.

I was looking at the BELONG website earlier and I like the concept. I've not been to one but was wondering if the company derive extra revenue from the sites other than just hire charges. For instance game merchandise,food,drink etc.

Shares appear friendless, but falling on small volume. Trading must be tough, but if it was materially worse than market expectations we should have heard something by now. Anecdotally I hear that BELONG is going very well. In any case the shares are underpinned by the balance sheet and difficult trading will help them with their lease renegotiations...

Thing is who's gonna take it over? Sports Direct are the only one but I can't see that happening in the near future. They've just written down the value of their other retail holdings.On saying that though I think this weakness is massively overdone considering the amount of cash on the balance sheet.I'm long and now slightly underwater but I think I'll stick with it.
