Yank I seem to remember that the very positive 3 week old reviews for the last game on steam were "too early to tell", so I think you judging an open beta is pushing it 😂. Remind me what your investment is here?

Unless you are new here, you will know that FDEV's new playbook of good looks on top of shallow gameplay and a raft of technical defects is a good part of what has crashed its share price recently.

Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin looks beautiful and does a great job of bringing the player into its world. The environment feels familiar with a splash of unique fantasy, the character design is faithful to its tabletop counterparts, and voice lines faithfully portray the feeling of the setting.

FDEV has put the Warhammer game out for press preview BEFORE beta testing. Brave! The press are already commenting on the level of bugs.

But more seriously "it lacks the focus needed to make a memorable game and fails to live up to the standards" etc.

Theres no time to experiment in this environment unfortunately. Its not expansionary, therefore you need to consolidate your resources and execute with extreme precision. Why does the board need to go? Dont understand what ur implying here.

both Warhammer and F1 games need to deliver big time in order for me to be interested. Will be keeping close eye on their reviews

If they were to have new releases and DIDN'T say, you'd complain.

Citation needed for 'dropping it's COBRA game engine'. I'm pretty sure their internal development tools aren't a requirement for disclosure to financial markets.

FDEV has been touting this jam tomorrow for years now.

And what is this "continued investment in future games"? FDEV appears to have dropped its COBRA game engine - without disclosing to market, or showing write-down in the accounts.

74tom, I agree. For F1M 2023 to even cover its costs, in one leap FDEV have to fix the many shortcomings in the 2022 game AND add enough extra stuff to justify the full 60$ price again. Given this genre is very niche, most buyers will be those who already bought the 2022 game, so they'd be paying $120 total. And the general player response to FDEVs recent F1M2023 previews doesn't make that look likely. e.g.

"Not Hyped.

They lost my trust twice with F1M22, first at release, when i saw the state the game was launched in, and a second time when they said that they didn't intended to fix all the bugs in 22'.

I might buy F1M23 if it's good, but I'll take everything they say about it with a pinch of salt."

Short term double top at 590p, neckline of the H&S around 495p, a break below there opens the retest of Feb lows around 415p. Can't see many reasons why this won't play out over the coming weeks given the poor FY24 outlook.

IF F123 receives a positive reception post it's 31st July release then it could get interesting, however given the poor reviews F122 got I'd say it's 50/50 at best on whether they'll beat last years 800k sales. Presumably the £108m revenue forecast budgets flat YoY sales, so any outperformance would result in a beat?
