06/2/2021 16:20 | Asos have already completed the Arcadia purchases, it completed on the 4th, they have lots of cash left and no debt and a £5bn mcap, if they wanted this they could easily swallow it, we will find out soon enough no doubt, I think the drinks company will have it and offer 50p with clauses to prevent further bids, if I was then that’s what I would do and do it quickly imho dyor | csmwssk12hu
06/2/2021 16:10 | Under current pandemic 45p sounds reasonable IMO 😊 | ak62
06/2/2021 11:02 | Asos will be tapped out if they proceed with the Arcadia bid.Absolute max here 50p imho | telbap
06/2/2021 10:05 | You have to ask not what is it worth in its current form but what is it worth as a brand and if topshop topman and miss selfridge are worth £100m each this is worth more imho but even I would be suprised if we got that, however if ASOS also gets involved with the bidding anything is possible imho dyor | csmwssk12hu
06/2/2021 10:03 | Someone asked yesterday for the link to the rejected bid of 41.4p in January 2020 it was in the retail gazette, makes me more confident we will be getting 40-50p here. French Connection rejected a bid from former All Saints and USC chief executive Stephen Craig in partnership with two private equity firms back in January. The bid was initially placed on December 19 to acquire the shares in French Connection at 41.4p per share – a premium of 18 per cent on the share bid price at the time. | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 18:28 | just one to highlight yourswell done for not posting 50 times to troll me on pmo today and very well done on your fccn callbtw its been confirmed that the gamestop squeeze was institutional, not retail, so your hope of lightening striking pmo is looking less likely than it ever did | stansmith3
05/2/2021 14:30 | hopefully will finish above +31p imho and well primed for Monday morning opening, especially with weekend press reports | ak62
05/2/2021 13:32 | I don’t expect £100m btw, I have just checked and can’t buy without ordering but can sell as much as you want, there filling an order probably at 30p based on this mornings movement imho dyor, personally think we will close today around 30p, over the weekend more will come forward and another rns Monday with another 2-3 interested parties, final bid 40-50 all imho dyor | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 13:15 | Could you just imagine if these went for £100m, based on Arcadia price of £100m per brand, no shops remember just the brand, and really you can’t do much more with them than clothes, this on the other hand has royalty income already, wholesale business already, the stores are already in the process of being closed but in fairness are now on turnover based rents, but with the French Connection brand you could put it on Wine, bakery goods, yoghurts, perfume, make up, champagne, alcohol in general, children’s toys, furniture, clothes and sofas, which they are already doing it’s literally endless you could even use as a french airline lol | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 12:10 | Totally agree others will want this just look how many wanted Arcadia | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 12:08 | CEO won't let himself down! He will be wanting a shed load more the 13m heading his way at 30p....Could be some fun coming next week with all the weekend press etc etc etc.... | telbap
05/2/2021 11:49 | 12% of free float shares have traded since Wednesday with only 30% free float that’s a lot, Frasers have twice in the last month or so confirmed their holding which is probably both bid approaches checking with them, they paid 36p for his first stake (11%) I can’t find the other ones, the price has hit 30p twice today which tells me mms have been given an order to buy everything up to 30p, they were probably given the order on Wednesday for upto 14p and yesterday for upto 17p as that was the day highs for both, a bidder could get upto 30% from the free float but would really need on of the other two main shareholders on their side, there’s are going to sell imho and Monday we may see a new buy order hitting a limit or possibly today, the fact it’s hit 30p twice and stayed there reassured me 30p is a minimum starting point, when you bare in mind Arcadia brands topman topshop and miss selfridge just sold for £300m these at £30m look way undervalued, with the ceo owning 45% he is not going to let us down imho dyor | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 11:17 | There’s no shorts here anyway now PMO is a totally different matter that’s the most shorted stock on market but that has already just started to turn, merger on its way through based on $35 per barrel it was worth between 27-31p, oil now touching $60 per barrel and share price 21p, now there’s a squeeze if there ever was one, not to mention I would not rule out a new bid as they have £4bn in tax credits on the books which is £1bn more than the total offer, someone must be looking at that and thinking hang on a minute imho dyor | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 11:13 | Shorts will have to close | shirley83
05/2/2021 11:11 | In auction again, weekend should see more interested parties, think and hope Monday we will see this nearer to 40, mms just shaking the tree to cover what they missed on earlier rise imho dyor | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 11:07 | 27,60 now paid | bunz3
05/2/2021 11:07 | I wasn't in previously but just got some on the dip for a short term hold. Looks promising. Already in profit. | computercoders
05/2/2021 11:06 | nice finish to the week here ,brilliant rise | bunz3
05/2/2021 10:51 | Now that is what you call shaking the tree, just got some more to play with | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 10:46 | It says price was at 41p when they put themselces up for sale. Doesn't say there was an offer for 41p as far as I can see.? | babbler
05/2/2021 10:45 | If you search news on google | csmwssk12hu
05/2/2021 10:34 | I can't see the 41p offer rns? Will keep looking. They were up for sale but they ended the formal process. | babbler
05/2/2021 10:31 | We have two bidders I can see two more personally which is ASOS and Frasers, I don’t see DFS getting involved but we are looking at it from its current position, if I bought that brand I would use it for so many more things, one of the bidders is a drinks company with $1.5bn in sales,I’ve said it before, what a name for a wine ‘French Connection’ for yoghurts, for bakery goods for chocolates don’t think just clothes and homeware! | csmwssk12hu |
