Wow, after all the MM's game play over the last week or so since the EOY trading statement, not a single price manipulative order book trade this morning. Is the end game nearly upon us ??

Hi Topaz, it could be possible that Hoskins are adding but I seriously doubt it, they're still hacked off after disposing of around 7% of Foxtons last year when the share was trading down near its historical lows of 28p ! Ouch, that's gonna hurt !!! As for all that volume we've been seeing over the last week or so, who knows but something is going on behind the scenes. Its just a question of sitting and waiting but not for much longer I feel.

More likely a mistake by the journalist, I would think.

Following the release of results and despite optimistic projections, it is evident based on factual information that the situation is not as healthy as portrayed. The absence of positive developments leaves no ground for the group engaging in manipulative trading practices to exploit. Any hopes of achieving exceptional results are now dashed. The stock, being thinly traded, is susceptible to a significant decline when these individuals shift their attention to the next speculative opportunity. Topaz is already preparing for his next major initiative. :-)

Topaz, BTW you have gone very very quiet on DEC.
Can we assume that you have sold out.

I should also add once again that the holding last registered by Hosking Partners as per the RNS released on 4th April 2023 to the London Stock Exchange states that the company reduced its holding in Foxtons shares to just 3.81%. If they now claim to have 10% of Foxtons shares then they are in breach of the UK trading and disclosure regulations imposed by the London Stock exchange as they have failed to disclose this holding update. That is unless someone is telling porkies again !!!

Yep, seen it all before, blah, blah and more blah. Perfectly and most eloquently summarised over on the other forum.

What price would Foxtons go for? £250m surely as a starting bid?

Article in yesterday's Guardian -- finishes with: "The shares, which floated at 267p in 2013 and reached a peak of 399p in 2014, are changing hands for about 54.9p. But they have risen more than 40% in the last three months. Django Davidson, portfolio manager at 10% shareholder Hosking Partners, says: “A sale is one way to close this valuation gap – a fact that we’re sure is not lost on the current board.” Cory Bailey, co-founder of 3G Capital, which also owns 10% of Foxtons, agrees: “It’s going to be hard for Foxtons to become a significant part of the consolidation in the sector unless they’re part of a private equity firm.” He says Foxtons’s lettings book of 30,000 properties in London is a “prime asset”. Chestertons was recently sold to European real estate services group Emeria, owned by the Swiss private equity firm Partners Group, for a reported £100m. Gittins dodges the buyout question. “We’re 100% focused on delivering the strategy that we set out, which is to deliver £25m to £30m of adjusted operating profit within the next three years,” compared with £14m last year, he says. Then again, everyone has a price."

MM's controlling the price via the order book this morning and won't allow the stock to go back over 56p, we're watching you closely !! :)

Fairly valued following average results. 15-16 PE? Not sure the CEO's million salary is good value to shareholders. Losing faith. No interested suitors. Debt stinks with these interest rates.

Well, one thing is for sure and that is we've got a few interesting weeks ahead of us before the March Final set of results. If the stock keeps registering year highs from 56p upwards, there will be new buyers of the stock keen to jump aboard but that will scupper any plans for potential predators that are sharpening their pencils as we speak as it increases the shareholder base. Market wants sellers so I'm expecting an adjustment of some sorts after today, say 5-10% in the short term that will still take the stock back to around 51-52p. Will there be any sellers that's the question, I very much doubt it but let the market figure it out for themselves. Just my thoughts :)

What justifies a higher share price? FY 21 revenue 120 mil and 20 mil in cash. FY 23 revenue 147 mil and 7 mil in debt. Not exactly spectacular. A few less share in issue I guess, business a little leaner, dividend sucks.

60p by end of week?

Technicals are looking very strong ...

80p then becomes the first target after that.

You could be right there, lets face it after yesterdays news the whole world and his wife are now suddenly looking at Foxtons. My theory is that after that huge volume this morning pre-market, someone out there is stake building in Foxtons, could it be Savills or Rightmove perhaps, we know the industry is rapidly consolidating and both of these companies can easily get a rights issue away to fund a takeover of Foxtons and would please the market and shareholders alike. This is now out of reach of the private equity chancers and besides there is no way the management at Foxtons and the largest shareholders in the company want to see a debt fuelled takeover again, just look back at BGC partners loading up some £400m of debt on to Foxtons books back in 2007 !!!! Just my thoughts.

The Arabs will make a bid for Foxtons before long I believe.

They are buying The Telegraph or trying to and are looking to add British assets all the time.
