Yep. Serves the Italians right. No good them (as ever) whingeing about this decision or that.. anyone who chooses to hold onto a one-goal lead is stupidly exposing themselves to the odd decision or two. They have the skill to build themselves a bigger cushion and (as ever) didn't.

(West Brom's propensity for holding onto one-goal leads all through last season notwithstanding).

If England find themselves capable of scoring I hope they keep on doing it. As Belgium found - you can be on top for most of the 90-95 minutes of a match - but each of Brazil's goals took under 5 seconds to construct. We need quite a big goal balance in our favour to cushion against that possibility.

(PS: Unless we can rapidly clone a trio of Rio Ferdinands)

surely this is a lesson for us, my feelings are if we lose to Brazil then what we should of done is win against Nigeria and win our group, not thinking it's a great success that we got through.

surely by attacking as we did against argentina and partly against denmark is the way we play best, score goals and become successful, we need practice at this and not trying to play boring matches very defensively

pommy, as I read it, that article in Time is by a satirical American putting the boot into Americans. It seems to be having a go at the American attitude to anything they didn't create or win or is outside the borders of the USA (remember 80% of Americans don't own passports - or so I read somewhere)!!! Who else has a World Series in which only one country participates!

As for Italy, good riddance. They might think they are unlucky having lost in the last 4 World Cups to penalties or the golden goal but it is because they don't try to kill off a game that they end up drawing so often.

Good luck Korea. The Spanish need to show more positive attitude once in the lead if they are to get past them.

FANTASTIC, Ive backed Korea all along since before the world cup after watching the friendlies.

You dont plan for 8 years for world cup and turn up ill prepared, Korea more so than anyone, even Japan

Haven't seen the game yet but 3 –0 O what joy.
Good to hear that that Owen and Heskey got on the score sheet and Rio what a star.

Well done England!!! Not brilliant but the Danes were exposed at the back to faster, somewhat more direct football (France - you tried too hard to walk your way round them. Just bulldoze through and they will make mistakes!).

Assume that Brazil is next. If so, England should watch the Costa Rica-Brazil game again and see how woeful Brazil were at the back. We will also have to tighten up at the back though. Gave it away far too much today but being 3-0 up is a good excuse :)

PS Agree the Germany - Paraguay game was pants. I blame the Paraguayans for their total negativity. Shame they pipped South Africa. They would have added some flair to it.
