11/6/2002 20:54 | Very well done Ireland and without a Welsh centre foward (unlike some). :-) Dil | dil
11/6/2002 20:03 | Brazil will win it again (yawn), so why don't all the other teams give up and go home. Not exactly an unbiased opinion I'm afraid, I'm in for £500 e/w on Brazil @13/2, looking good so far. | timbo003
11/6/2002 19:22 | In their present form the contest is better off without France. Sad though. They do have the talent to have done well but couldn't be bothered to run the extra yard against anyone they regarded as a lesser team. No va-voom. Who's going to buy a Renault Clio now? Knowing it'll get left at the lights and only survive a fortnight.. I hope some of these advertising agencies were bright enough to make the stars' payments conditional on World Cup progress. | m.t.glass
11/6/2002 19:04 | Kein schlechtes Spiel heute, oder??? DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND, DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND!!!!!! Where is Ireland? Isn't that a creamy whisky? | tomkin
11/6/2002 18:51 | dailos, Now there's a thought....we need all the help we can get at the Bridge! TP ps......Now that McCarthy has more than proved a point and qualified from the group stage, is it time for him and Roy Keane to kiss and make up? Roy Keane on the pitch against Spain would be nice, wouldn't it? | the player
11/6/2002 18:41 | What a wonderful result!!! Nervy at times, but the early goal was a godsend. People are spilling out of the pubs and on to the streets here in Dublin at the moment. Real party atmosphere. Spain will be difficult. But, in qualification and here in the World Cup we've played Portugal, Holland, Germany and Cameroon and none of them has beaten us. Over 90 minutes anything can happen. As for the Germans......you have to hand it to them. They have (arguably) their worst side ever, they barely quaified to get to Japan and then the stumble through their group. Always the same......no style whatsoever, but enormous determination. They make me mad, but they get there every time. The goalkeeper is keeping them in it so far. I hope they get knocked out next round. But, I can't see them losing to South Africa. England: GOOD LUCK!!!!!! You shouldn't need it though. TP | the player
11/6/2002 18:24 | I find post 132 offensive and ask for it to be removed. If this is not done I will withdraw my subscription from ADVFN with immediate effect and state my reason why. | mh
11/6/2002 17:33 | just hope the nigerians aren't niggly tomorrow, could wipe our first team out. Sven will have to ring glenn roeder up and try to get some more hammers lines up! | tradesman
11/6/2002 15:29 | Don't hold back pommy, say what you mean :-) | guysports
11/6/2002 14:45 | Come on England! Ireland are now in the last 16 so let's go join them. Come on Ireland! (Nearly, but just not quite so much as England, eh?) Nice to see OUR teams doing well. | execline
11/6/2002 13:46 | Well done the boys in green. See you in the finals. Robbb Yep | martini
11/6/2002 13:41 | I'm sure I heard the commentator say that a record was set in the German-Cameroon match - 2 red cards and 16 yellow - is that right? | robbb
11/6/2002 13:38 | Well done Ireland. Duff looked very lively and it was nice of the Saudi 'keeper to give hime a goal. Bit nervy in the second quarter but they did the job. I imagine The Player and the rest of our Irish contingent are not in a fit state to post right now :-) Good luck against Spain. Rob | robbb
11/6/2002 13:28 | Yes very well done. | jonc
11/6/2002 13:24 | Well done Ireland | kd1
07/6/2002 23:15 | Hargreaves strikes me as too lightweight for this game - too easily barged off the ball. And Danny Mills too likely to get himself sent off.. Heskey I can see winning us a penalty as long as he's in confident mood (which he sometimes isn't). Scholes to score. And absolutely no bets on any of this! | m.t.glass
07/6/2002 18:47 | Well done England!!! TP | the player |
