Unbelievable - not the company, the morons that didn't understand that 1p was a generous offer. The company is clearly bankrupt and in danger of trading insolvent. Given the private investor morons that now own the equity can't see this there has to be a strong chance they would vote against the deal. That is to say deliberately put people out of work, disrupt passenger travel arrangements and so on just because of their own fallibility at judging a companies worth. So congratulations to the board for doing the right thing.

"Once Flybe transfers onto a standard listing on 17 January, shareholders cannot vote on the divestment"

It seems to me that Flybe are so desperate for cash, that they are burning through cash at an alarmingly increasing rate.

I am struggling to understand after today's announcement On 11 January 2019, Connect Airways Limited ("Connect Airways") announced a recommended cash offer (the "Recommended Offer") for all of the issued and to be issued share capital of Flybe Group.Status of recommended offer by the Consortium for FlybeShareholders should note that the Recommended Offer announced on 11 January 2019 will proceed irrespective of the Divestment. Further communications will be made as appropriate. Why are people still buying? The shares will delist and they will get 1p.It couldn't be any clearer.

How many shareholders will book with Flybe or Virgin or Stobart? Think about where you spend.

pilkersa, i don't think you understand what has happened here. It is not a long term stock at all. When the sale is forced through, which in effect today's announcement has done that, the shares will delist. There is no long term.

The fact that flybe needed that £10M today shows us all just how close this was to receivership. Moreover it gives us an idea of the current cash burn levels given the fairly recent asset disposal/lease backs which generated £10M. It would seem that little pile of cash has gone already. Presumably the credit card merchants are refusing to hand over a penny so its all outward cash. What this BOD has done is disgusting, but at face value i think they've been backed into a corner and decided to shaft shareholders to preserve jobs.

would you book a flight with flybe now ?

no way...

I think that's been the problem, rapid booking erosion and cc providers holding onto cash..

insolvent or near as damn it, hence rapid need for funds = shareholders shafted.

People always bail at the lowest price. I did it with sound which then went from 13p to £1..... So you never know....

is there an injunction coming...the share price is not doing as bad as I thought it would. Lets hope these shenanigans are exposed in court and Virgin suffers the reputational damage it deserves

I do wander what this will look like in a year. For what is worth i dont think it will hit 1p, and could be an interesting long term recovery stock. Not invested but might take small punt at right price. andy tinkler must see some value to buy 12 percent..... So wouldnt write this off....

I’m sorry these have fell for those holding however when they announced the 1p takeunder I thought if they drop below 1p I would have a flutter they have traded between 1.6 and about 4p since, today they have basically said the silver is going and we aren’t asking, we have changed deal to prevent counter bid as we need £10m today and the shares are still around 2.5p? Barring a miracle why would you still hold let alone buy at these levels, for the record I personally would not buy below 1p now as I have no faith that the bid would go ahead as they may well play material drop in trading performance, let’s face it if they are that tight to pay £2m they are that tight to pay nothing, all imho dyor looking forward to sensible answers
