Minerve... Bidco to Connect all linked to Warren Brady, also I wonder if there were leaks to the credit card acquirers...and other things in this conspiracy. Oh, I understand that Tinkler still has allies on the inside of Stob

Why would Stobart get sued? They are a completely different legal entity to Connect Airways. Why do you think Ltd exist? LOL

Tinkler raised a lot of money, he must have something in mind...If Tinkler bought from Everitt yesterday, then we should get an RNS today

I see the stob carpetbaggers have gone quiet...I hop stob get sued to high heaven for their likely role in this conspiracy (I dont imagine Branson would been a big driver...flybe not significant enough to take such a risk)

Tinkler has reduced his holding in stob by 14%....hope he has found malpractice :)

Some on LSE suggesting there coul;d have been a deliberate leak to the credit card acquirers by the consortium...seems very plausible...I hope it was Warren Brady (his actions have been pre-meditated in this conspiracy).

If there is another announcement that Tinkler has acquired more Flyb, then the battle is about to get nasty....

Given Ryan Airs announcement today, I would have expected people to have fled Flyb, but no the price rises...something definitely afoot

Thanks for the thanks.

Risk management is ignored by many on ADVFN, but spend a shortwhile reading about the businesses you invest in, sectors, markets and general accounting will help you reduce that risk more than you think. Also, diversification - but not too much - helps, and if you prefer trading rather then investing, choosing trade size and appropriate stop-losses is an art worth mastering.

I have spent many hours writing and altering an 'investment thesis'. It forms the basis of my risk management. I remained disciplined to it. It is just a list of general points that I stick to. It will include max percentage of portfolio allowed in one stock, max number of stocks etc..

Warren Buffett always says the first thing you should do is try to decide what businesses you can make an informed opinion on. You don't need to be able to do it on all stocks. Stick to a sector or two and/or something of interest. I agree with Buffett in that this is one of the most important things you should do.

My portfolio tends to have businesses where information/data overlaps. So when I read into a sector it may help me understand a bit more of 2/3 companies. Time is always limited so I try not to have too many stocks in varied sectors but enough to be reasonably diversified.

Good luck!

From a private investors point of view I don't why someone would lose money in order to gain tax relief on that loss. Doesn't make sense.

However,

As a business, if the shell has got a record of losses that might be worth something to a company looking to reverse into it for a cheap list. I am not an expert in these matters but if I remember rightly I saw it happen during the tech boom/collapse.

Buying into a guaranteed loss might be a way of off setting gains for Tax purposes, hence the dealing? Just a thought...

Like many others here I have very little idea about what is actually going on. Adds to the suspense though wouldn't you say?

Will it?...won't it? how is it actually still here.

Who is actually buying quite sizeable amounts of this company? Would you seriously commit more than what you would be willing to bet with in a casino to this company with the current news ?

Lets quote a bit of Conant doyle:

"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth"

There must in my honest opinion be something else in the pot - pure speculation though. Otherwise this would be 1p a share.

I guess it will still be on the market 6 months from now at possibly 12p a share.

Didn’t Virgin buy Northern Rock? A lot of angry shareholders there who formed an action group.

Here’s a story of a man named Brady
Who wanted to form a co. of his own
So with Virgin and Stobart they formed a family
That’s the way they ate us shareholders for lunch

Corporate world.....so dirty. I've never understood how things can be kept from shareholders. If you own a business in the real world and your employee hid something crucial from you you'd sack him. Why doesnt it work like that here. We the owners sack the board. So much is hidden.

Phylilis, if you are in Stob, you had better hope that flybe does not become a poisoned chalice in the tinkler vs stob (Brady) clash of alpha males (I hope it does!)....:)

I think the sale of the assets took place on the day the standard listing took effect

It has been widely commented that Flybe was under the rack as far as its cash position was concerned

There was plenty of time for everyone to put their hat in the ring if they wanted to bid

Yet you keep crying conspiracy
Virgin and Stobart (and presumably Cyrus!) to be sued for malpractice

You are deluded!
