Techinvest tech fund has bought Nokia stock on the basis that it will gain a big share of the 5G market in US.
"During June, the Fund also acquired a position in Nokia. The Company is a play on the forthcoming large wave of investment required to build the next generation 5G communications networks. Together with the consolidation in recent years in the number of telecoms network infrastructure suppliers, Nokia is well placed to take a strong share of this wave of investment over coming years. "

Nw99 - no one ever got poor taking a profit. Well done.Owen. Yes, 5G is a way off yet however customer are ever more demanding of carriers. 4.5g will likely be around for a while with companies pushing capacity on the existing spectrum. Happy to add today.

The point worth noting about MIMO products is that it isn't all about 5G, they deal with network capacity constraints now and are an option for dealing with network upgrading now that is economically more viable than other methods.

MIMO also will form part of the infrastructure for 5G as well.

The current market driver for MIMO is capacity constraints
The future market driver for MIMO is 5G adoption.

I would expect orders for this particular offering to increase medium term.

Outlook was much more uncertain last year Brucie,However yes, results days can often disappoint and see unexpected swings. Not a day to be on margin and another reason you will have seen people moving out before results.Long term the future is rosy and the PE is very low for the sector.

From what I recall last year, the market didn't like the results and the share price tumbled. Market reaction will now be instructive.

Nothing unexpected in the results. The forward looking statements are fantastic. I have just completed a masters module on wireless security and implementation which supports the statements made re: future traffic density requirements.They are keeping an eye on the profitable markets and manoeuvring out of ones where Chinese dominance is driving down prices. Steady as she goes!

10 trading days since news. I'd expect we have had some closing of T- trades the last few days to lock in profits ahead of results.5G is here for the foreseeable future so I don't see any rush to chase this share.

Rather than the numbers tomorrow, I think the key aspect will be to focus on the outlook/industry statement to help us estimate the future demand.........
