09/8/2018 07:32 | An offer of say 30p a share would get you a proiftable business with excellent contracts with major players in their areas of expertise. Someone must be looking at this co. It would make a vey clean takeover candidate with minimal debt and making profits. Its a well respected company operating in a sector that's going to have billions of pounds spent on infastrucutre that HAS TO HAPPEN. If we get a pull back in the shareprice today BUY imo as the is virtually no downside. | pictureframe
08/8/2018 22:30 | Many mobile base station rents are worked out on the amount of antennae on the tower structure. There will be a drive to combine and or consolidate this with 5G which should benefit FTC... | tp6
08/8/2018 19:31 | rubberbullets - It was a different company then. It did other things. And they then sold off a major business unit and returned funds to shareholders. Not saying they wont go a lot higher, I suspect they will, but not £6. | she-ra
08/8/2018 18:06 | Value Hound; the biggest turnover in recent years was to the end of May 2013 when sales were £40m. We know this year will be around £24m, but next year and the one after could be significantly higher as 5G rolls out. If the product is as good as it seems, I would have thought sales of £40-50m could be achieved in a couple of years with pre-tax of around £3-4m, but with lots of further optimism etc., plus all the more 'standard' ongoing business. If this happens, and there's a reasonable P/E added to the effective net cash figure of roughly £6m (current assets plus a bit of tax credit less all liabilities) then I reckon an overall valuation of up to £50m would be VERY reasonable - giving a share price of 24p. Longer term, who knows? These things tend to get a real head of steam. We'll know more with the finals a week tomorrow. Much will depend on the outlook - but it will surely be optimistic. I certainly won't be selling any south of 24p. | boystown
08/8/2018 17:23 | Here some articles for 5G it looks like its being pushed quite hard and fast which will be very good for FTC hxxp://www.alphr.com hxxps://techlector.c hxxp://fortune.com/2 | chestnuts
08/8/2018 17:22 | It looks like someone’s been building a serious stake in the company over the last few days. People are starting to realise the potential here and what a key player Filtronic is going to be over the coming years. I really think the risk here is being taken out too cheaply. For that reason I significantly increased my holding today as there’ll be some massive moves up on a daily basis as 5G starts being mentioned more in the coming months. | maarleck

08/8/2018 14:15 | I'm trying to get some kind of feel for future sales here. Given that "Nokia will supply T-Mobile with $3.5 billion of early stage 5G Network Equipment" and ... "Filtronic has collaborated with Nokia to develop a massive MIMO (multiple input/multiple output) antenna... The efficiency gains from massive MIMO products provide a compelling business case for Mobile Network Operators and are a major step in the development of dense 5G networks..." It kind of feels like the sky's the limit and, to be fair to the company, they've been talking about repositioning themselves to take advantage of the 5G roll-out for a while now. But does anyone have a feel for what's realistic for sales c.two years hence - and what kind of margins we're likely to see? Obviously, this is guesswork, but that's the business we're in as investors. Declaration: I hold from <10p. | value hound
