11/10/2022 07:39 | Hey lodgeview... As a result of these missile strikes, state-owned electrical infrastructure, which is located outside of the Group's operations, has been damaged. Limited power supply is available at the Group's operations, which is being prioritised for critical equipment required for essential services and local communities. Consequently, production has been temporarily suspended at the Group's operations. Engineers are currently conducting an assessment of the damage incurred to electrical infrastructure, and an estimate of the period of production downtime as repairs are carried out. | hamhamham1
11/10/2022 07:36 | Putin, sadly ain't finished yet. | hamhamham1

10/10/2022 21:15 | I read today some democrats want to stop selling arms to Saudi that's like a drug dealer wanting to stop selling crack to his smackhead addicts. Hope they do stop selling to them after the atrocities in Yemen and reduce the military complex revenues at the same time. Win win in my eyes | thags
10/10/2022 20:32 | The United States wants to unseat Putin because he is challenging the almighty U.S. dollar. | loganair
10/10/2022 13:37 | It may be that the USA blowing up the Nordstream pipelines and Ukraine the Crimean bridge will provide the catalyst for Russia to ramp up its war effort. That would probably be a good thing in the long run, as such an escalation would be likely to shorten the war, bring about some form of resolution rather than an everlasting low level battle of attrition, and reduce casualties overall. Possibly less infrastructure damage overall too, which would be good for FXPO, though the attacks which put the pipelines and bridge out of action seem certain to prompt a major effort to destroy Ukrainian infrastructure, especially in the areas Russia has little hope of retaining/conquering It must make sense to for Russia to do all in its power to destroy the transport network used to import western war and other materials into Ukraine and, especially with winter coming on, to destroy the power generation and transmission infrastructure. That, I fear, would be bad for FXPO =, as would destruction of transport infrastructure. Russia needs to make the cost to Ukraine too great for the population to be willing to bear the casualties, destruction, and hardship of continuing an unending war as the USA's proxy in its primary objective, namely to cripple Russia. In order to take the heart out of Ukrainian resistance, Russia needs to bring about a position whereby the Ukrainians see that the USA is determined upon causing damage to Russia rather than saving Ukraine, and that the prolongation of the war indefinitely, at whatever cost in Ukrainian lives and destruction, is the USA's chosen means to that end. Russia may have use tactical nuclear weapons to achieve that, but I can't see the USA putting nuclear weapons in the hands of Ukrainians, nor putting US forces into the firing line to deploy tactical nuclear weapons themselves, so the risk may well be worth taking for Russia, provided China is willing (tacitly) to go along with it. If the war goes nuclear, there will be real pressure from all sides to end it, because of the risk of nuclear escalation. I very much doubt that any of that is lost upon Putin. | 1knocker
06/10/2022 10:05 | Ferrexpo share price holding up amazingly well, under the circumstances. But with all the issues surrounding production and deliverables, we mustn't forget that people in Ukraine are dying to protect their country. Eight Ferrexpo staff confirmed as killed fighting for their country. | bellbottom

05/10/2022 19:25 | Don't forget either 'my country , right or wrong'. In a war, you support the home team, even if you think the war was a terrible mistake. For a Russian. so long as the war continues opposing Putin means siding with the USA and Biden. If you were a Russian, would you do that? And what can Russia look forward to from the USA if it waves the white flag in Ukraine? The only way the Russiansturn against Putin is if Russia is offered terms the Russian people regard as fair and which ought to be accepted. All I hear is talk about 'making Russia pay' and war comes trials. Do you think the Russian people are going to jump at that? And even if we can force the war to the point where they have no choice, would such terms be in our long term interests? Does anyone recall how well the Versailles treaty and reparations played out out? 1945 and the Nuremberg trials are an entirely different matter. The allies had occupied Germany, and exercised control over it. And even then, there were no reparations demanded - instead the Martial plan. No way is Russia going to be conquered and occupied. The 1945 model is not an option. | 1knocker
04/10/2022 21:08 | epo, no chance of that in near future as will not be a mass uprising sadly because most people are rightly afraid of protesting and a long prison sentence or even early death. Only the armed forces could depose the monster but that is highly unlikely too . maybe if Putin orders use of nuclear weapons , there is a possibility he can be overthrown . | arja
04/10/2022 09:24 | The Panama Papers detailed information on Alexander Babakov. More revealing details, including Babakov's alleged involvement in organised assassinations, including on the streets of Kyiv. | bellbottom |
