10/3/2021 18:58 | You may well be right but it is very disappointing when FFWD was his idea investing in area discussed in his book of the same name. The aim was to get stakes in very early stage investments that were not usually available to private investors. This has been achieved but some of the disposals have left cause for concern such as Moonactive which could have already made us a £50 million+ market cap company, that task now falls to Leap, but at least it shows what can be achieved in 18 months! The 2 Cannabis disposals have also had problems which may well have been handled differently if people such as Lorne had held their interests via FFWD instead of large direct interests. Lorne and Jim Mellon and Ed will get the second performance related payment for their EMMAC shares. They can also share in the future success of EMMAC via their shares in Cureleaf. FFWD has made a good return on these investments but when it’s not on a par with other shareholders we will definitely be wanting the Directors to ensure that doesn’t happen again. | 888icb
10/3/2021 18:29 | Ffwd had little say as they held such a tiny amount of Emmac ( unlike Ed’s 10% of Emmac ) can’t believe people were excited about Ed’s ramptard Meeting. Surely Leap Still has to come good. Quick round up and the NAV is still barely over 10p. Leap needs to be huge. There is little else worth anything | mellonsbellend
10/3/2021 16:56 | You are absolutely right it’s not a unique situation as Lorne did it before. We need the people making the decisions to hold all their interest via FFWD or at least most. However we should remember that we do have a number of large shareholders which now includes Lorne’s mum who all need the share price to be much higher than it is today just to get their money back. They are Investor Number of Shares % of Issued Share Capital Mrs Rhonda Abony 17,784,388 8.36 Peter Saladino 17,194,590 8.08 Jim Mellon 16,283,722 7.65 Richard Hackett 9,17,478 4.61 Norbert Teufelburger 7,557,005 3.55 The above own 32% of the company and will not be happy with the current share price We are the major shareholder in Leap and Ed must make sure it sells for multiples of its current book value so he can give the above and all other long term holders a venture capital size return on their investment in FFWD. | 888icb
10/3/2021 16:18 | Oh come on, its hardly unique now is it. Surely its the exact same situation the company had to deal with a few years back when they had to sell their Nuuvera holdings because Aphria shares formed part of the sale. He's taking a liberty by saying its a unique situation! | 1retirement
10/3/2021 15:08 | Ed has just tweeted Ed McDermott @edmcdermott12 · 16m £5m (£2.3m profit) is a very healthy pot on top of our existing cash (£2m+) and cash equivalents (£4m+). It is a unique situation with FFwD unable to hold Cura stock. Another significant cash return for #FFWD which allows us to invest in more growth opportunities!#canna | 888icb
10/3/2021 14:34 | You've a very poor memory then as it was nearly 20m traded three weeks ago. Its hard to find, its not like its shown directly below the chart! | 1retirement
10/3/2021 14:13 | Volume today is incredible, 16.7 million so far and a while to go yet. I don't remember seeing it this high before. | bdog51
10/3/2021 13:41 | 888ICB, I have always admired your optimistic view on life. | biggest bill
10/3/2021 13:33 | Leap has for along time been my favourite investment to bring in the largest return not least because we own 44% rather than 2.3% in a cannabis company which would have needed to become a unicorn to get the returns people were hoping for. Leap is clearly doing exceptionally well as a gaming company and look who the other large shareholder is IMG.If Leap was worth £100 million FFWD would get £44 million. If EMMAC had been worth £100 million FFWD would have got circa £3 million. Ed when questioned at the presentation last week advised that Leap was not yet in profit as it was more important to go for growth in revenues. It is perfectly common for fast growing companies not to make a profit and they are valued on the future not the past. | 888icb
10/3/2021 13:08 | Do you troll the VRS board like you do this one ? Some proper rampers on there, can't complain though made a nice wad on VRS. | rickyl1
10/3/2021 12:58 | Most gaming and online betting companies have done extremely well during the lockdowns, so you don't know what Leap's next accounts will show. I'm sticking with it. | the skipper
10/3/2021 12:22 | 888ICB, there is a big difference between Tinybuild and Leap Gaming. Tinybuild is profitable and Leap Gaming isn't. I cannot find any financial results for Leap Gaming anywhere except that it still isn't making money (according to ffwd). Until Leap Gaming starts making significant amounts of money, it is very hard to assign much of a value to it. | biggest bill
10/3/2021 12:05 | Its amazing how quickly the rampers change tact and switch their attentions to the next ramp in the portfolio. Just paper over the issues laid out this morning. Shareholders have been badly let down on the disposal of EMMAC (and previously NUU). What makes anyone with an ounce of common sence think that LEAP wont be done the same way to feather the nests of a chosen few? | 1retirement
10/3/2021 11:51 | We all want to know a ballpark value for Leap. This is a tweet on FFWD this morning bergo @bergosbg · 1h Point of comparison for #FFWD #TBLD - indie game developer listed on #AIM this week for $474M (350GBP) !!! A 250GBP IPO for @leapgaming on the Nasdaq (not AIM) is not entirely unrealistic - the market for gaming is huge bergo @bergosbg · 2h 8/ #FFWD this would equate to 75-124M GBP to #FFWD - 3-5x current market cap and that's not taking into consideration #KNB, #CBX, #PRTG etc Note: Even if the IPO is 50% of that (to give the price time to scale to GAN / GMBL) levels, that's still 40-60M to #FFWD I have no idea what comparison he has done but it does at least start a discussion on Leap having a very significant value. | 888icb
10/3/2021 11:40 | That Leap news is all over LSE too. Ed said Q3 for the asset sale I believe, sounds like this is starting to move forward already. | bdog51
10/3/2021 11:39 | I've a small fortune in Ffwd ....unfortunately I started with a large one :) | rickyl1
10/3/2021 11:30 | Interesting message just appeared on Twitter. Copied below.Leap looks as if it's soldHuge news for #FFWD IMG announce they are in the process of completing a sales process for its full product set (Data Rights, Streaming Rights, Golf Event Centre, UFC Event Centre and VIRTUALS) Https://t.co/KUBu6uU | bdog51
10/3/2021 11:23 | I agree David Burton makes some very good points. We have made a very good return on our investment just not as much as we had hoped or what could have been if the IPO route or a sale to a company not involved in recreational cannabis had been undertaken. I think people who have sold today out of disappointment will regret their decision because clearly the company is worth more today than it was yesterday. It will be ridiculous if the share price finished down today because the company has a bright future with a disposal of Leap and £8 million to invest now. I think Ed needs to show his commitment to FFWD by investing a significant amount of his profits from EMMAC into FFWD. Ed has made far more profit than FFWD. He and Lorne could have steered EMMAC down a different path but put themselves first rather than thinking about FFWD shareholders. If Lorne and Ed had held their interest in EMMAC via FFWD rather than directly I am sure we would have seen a different deal. | 888icb
10/3/2021 10:19 | David Burton of TMS has just piled in on Twitter: "Think a key message is being missed here to the @ffwdinnovations shareholders... #FFWD will be in a cash position of circa £8m with additional cash equivalents of probably £3m. Asset wise the NAV has also increased. They walk away with a real cash return of 186% | the skipper
10/3/2021 10:07 | The NAV of the company has increased based on today’s deal by £2.6 million as EMMAC is currently valued in the accounts at £2.4 million(Factom is valued at zero). The number of shares in issue has no impact on the NAV of the company. | 888icb
10/3/2021 09:33 | Explain how NAV has increased based on 212m shares in issue and treasury shares? | 1retirement
10/3/2021 08:48 | EMMAC while planing this deal has done a deal with YOOM. I asked at the investor presentation if YOOM and EMMAC would combine to become a global player. The answer was its unlikely. Cureleaf is a massive US$ 11 billion company so perhaps it may go for YOOM as well and we have 10% of YOOM. I think selling today makes little sense as our NAV has increased and there has to be a lot more to come to get Ed’s year end target. | 888icb
10/3/2021 08:48 | The profit on this disposal doesn't even cover the £5 million write down on the Factom investment. How many fund managers would be crowing about that? | 1retirement |
