Yes quite possible...we shall see tomorrow I suppose.

I think these additional sanctions against anyone deemed as tied to Russian Federal Government has just received a blanket "read-across" today.

In reality direct effect on commercial businesses linked to such persons will not just be limited by additional resolutions which dictate that US companies and persons should not themselves suffer consequences, but furthermore the list of designated companies and person is simply NOT going to be extended to every Russian Director or buisness owner / investor (that would be just silly).

FWIW I think Mr. Market will take some analysis tomorrow and it will decide just how significant the ties are between each and every listed company with links the Russian federal government before it decides which ones are oversold. Those ones which are deemed most legitimate will probably bounce (much will depend on how the BoD are perceived individually I sense).

Ah well, now your talking.

Let's be honest he backed the right horse there. Putin will outlast almsot all of the west's leaders in longevity terms. His "Mandate " to lead is recently refreshed.

The dynamics are fairly clear. Trump needs to stand up to Putin (or at least be seen to). But in the end as it always is with powerful nations it's a simple game of positioning to enable an equiliberum.

As ever economically US wins but Putin needs to be seen to be empiracal.

Unpredictable indeed. So I focus on the fundamentals. Trade wars are no good for anyone in the long run.

... a bit like nuclear wars.

As we have already seen Trump is a law unto himslef, but mostly he is a bag of wind. He expressses views before thinking about implications and more often than not the result is a far more diluted affair than initially it appeared. Common sense general gets the better of him. Much of the strategy is about posturing.

In all cases such as these the volatility is what kills PIs and profits MMs and IIs. I'll be buying dips and selling peaks. A sensible size of position and a balanced portfolio enables the ability to sleep.

Amendment of existing loan agreements

EVRAZ plc ("EVRAZ", the "Company" and together with its subsidiaries, the "EVRAZ Group") announces today that CJSC "MMC "Timir" ("Timir"), the EVRAZ Group's 51 per cent. owned subsidiary, has signed certain amendments to its existing loan agreements with AK ALROSA PAO ("ALROSA") (the "Transaction").

Transaction highlights

In April 2013, EVRAZ acquired a 51 per cent. ownership interest in Timir from Alrosa. Alrosa retained the remaining 49 per cent. of Timir, a joint venture created for the purpose of developing iron ore deposits in the southern part of the Yakutia region in Russia.

In May 2010 and February 2011, Timir entered into two loan agreements with Alrosa (the "Loan Agreements"), worth 284 million roubles and 2,008 million roubles, respectively.

On 05 March 2018, Timir executed documents effecting the following amendments to the existing Loan Agreements with Alrosa:

-- the term of the Loan Agreements has been extended by two years to 25 December 2019; and
-- the interest rate applicable to the amounts outstanding under the Loan Agreements will be reduced from 0.5 per cent. to 0 per cent.

All other terms of the existing Loan Agreements remain unchanged.

Pursuant to UK Listing Authority ("UKLA") Listing Rule 11.1.4R, Alrosa is classified as a related party of EVRAZ, due to its substantial shareholding in Company's subsidiary, Timir. The Transaction, therefore, constitutes a smaller related party transaction as defined under UKLA Listing Rule 11.1.10R and EVRAZ has accordingly obtained a written confirmation from a sponsor that the terms of the transaction are fair and reasonable as far as shareholders of EVRAZ are concerned.

It's confirmed. EVR enters the FTSE100 on Monday (15th Jan).

yes, chart looks quite good with 340 chart resistamce , broke through yesterday but then retreated back to 340 level - as it is a friday it is unlikely to move higher today .
