loads of small buys today .No movement in the price.Large T trade sell at the end.Looks like a seller in the background, perhaps one of the parties in the placing taking a quick 8p profit.Considering all the good news that has come out of this company ,i am quite dissapointed with the share price movement.Doesn't seem to be a great deal of interest here.imho

Spotted this company and I've taken a little look tonight and am quite interested.

Should be a couple of bits of news between now and the end of the year on the phase II trials for their asthma product. A couple of pieces of news for the first qtr of 2007 also - between now and 2007 could turn this co into a massive co.

A concern on the little research i have done so far is that they require an additional 10-12m of fundraising despite the recent 2.5m

I would be interested in your views (I prefer a balanced view) and i will do a little further research myself and share with you guys too.

Also, how difficult is it to get hold of shares with an online broker - doesn't look very liquid ?

P1, good to hear you are a supporter and I agree that it is not fanciful to think the company might be taken out at some stage. In terms of share price action though in the short term I think it is a one trick pony in that the real share price driver in the next few weeks will be th phIIB hay fever results.

topped up yesterday, surprised the rns had so little effect.Lots of good news seems to be coming in early stage tests on these compounds ,with some unexpected spin off effects too.Market for hayfever products is massive.Reckon this will get taken out at some stage ,subject to successful further tests of course. Its not a one trick pony either as it ,and the various compounds seem to have many potential uses in both humans and animals.imho

If you want to paste a chart in the future , all you do is (I bet I have to edit this!)

1) "right-click" on the chart itself ,
2) go to the "properties" option.
3) highlight the chart's address/URL details.
4) "right-click" and "copy" this URL
5) "right-click" and "paste" it into the post you are aiming to place it
6) add "> immediately after the URL (no spaces)
7) add IMG SRC=" immediatley infront of the URL
8) finally, immediately infront of IMG SRC type another > ....but the other way around!

So you end up with the following (except the first arrow is reversed)

>IMG SRC="(URL)">

Thanks PL - if I cant get the charts in place I'll hand over to you!

The spike up to £2 last year was the run up to and announcement of the first set of Ph II trial results in hay fever. The rapid fall was a result of a £10m placing at 160p in October, which was heavily dilutive because of the market cap. Theres been little newsflow since to support the price and a distressed seller is said to be responsible for the sharp drop to below 120p this summer.

As the company had the £2.8m placing last week I would hope that positive results from the bigger PhII hay fever trial in the next few weeks would not be immediately followed by a fundraising so the price should stay up specially if theres a licensing deal on the way.

The £2.8m placing release says the funds are for "scaling up the manufacturing capability to meet new expectations and to fund studies to validate and automate filling of the nasal spray device". This is the device used in the Ph II trial so I deduce (perhaps incorrectly!) that fund managers were told that the trial result is a done deal or the fund managers would have told them to come back once the results were out.

Try adding that to your original post Golden Lane , but reverse those 3 arrows at the start and middle of the text. Also remove the ? in the midle too
You get the above two charts,6 months and intraday.
(took me a few attempts to be able to get that text to appear correct , the arrows make the text behave in a certain way)

golden lane - if you re struggling with the html - i can start a thread with charts for you -

intriguing story - and the chart looks to be improving

what caused the fall from 210?

do you know?

Evolutec isolates therapeutic candidates from the saliva of ticks. Ticks remain undetected on humans for 10 days or more prior to taking a blood meal. They achieve this by injecting an array of molecules into the skin which suppress the human body's normal immune and and inflammatory defence mechanisms. These "stealth" molecules have evolved over millions of years, in contact with humans and other mammals. Evolutec employs the ticks' stealth technology against human diseases.

Jonfa, I'm still trying to work out how to insert the charts!

As you know, the company cant have seen the trial results yet or the directors wouldnt have been able to buy shares last week, but the fact they bought suggests the results are on track. Also they wouldnt have been able to do that small £2.8m placing last week if they hadnt had a decent story to tell fund managers.

My guess is the results wont be out for at least a couple of weeks but probably will be between mid November and the first or second week in December at the very latest to be well ahead of Christmas.

I'm optimistic about the results - and a rapid licensing deal - as this PhII trial is a bigger version of a previous PII trial which had positive results last year.

GL, if we are going to use this thread, would you mind sticking the usual graphs etc in at the top - many thanks in advance.

Ive held a few of these since august - half in shares and half in a spread bet with a tight guaranteed stop - I agree that there should be a decent run up in share price over the next few weeks, unless someone gets a whiff of a bad trial result.

They said in the results presentation that they would finish dosing during the week ended 22 sept. So the result could be out any time from about now onwards!

p.s. nice gag papa

It's quite unusual in my experience for directors in a biotech or other high risk/high reward company to buy stock in the market so it is encouraging and they've bought before at a higher level. There was a distressed seller that apparently depressed the price over the summer so it might be that the directors' buying indicates there's no loose stock around so the price could react well to any good news/interest.

I have a few , from a while ago @ £1.60 ish.
:-(
Surprised at the Directors buying at that premium , and encouraged.

That 30K sell was possibly premature, taking that into account and upcoming newsflow so I'm probably going to add again.

Anyone interested in this stock? I bought some recently as the chart is heading the right way and the story - developing drugs from ticks - is intriguing. It was good to see three directors buying stock in the market at 129p when the small fundraising earlier in the week was at 118p - a difference of almost 10%. They've bought ahead of Ph II trial results in hay fever expected in the next few weeks, which shows confidence in the outcome.

There was some decent buying this afternoon after the small £2.5m fundraising announced this morning. The fundraising is ideal as it isnt particularly dilutive to existing shareholders and puts the company in a much stronger position ahead of its phase II hay fever results promised before the calendar year end. Its management talked bullishly about a licensing deal on the hay fever product at last month's interims so with some extra cash in the bank they wont have to carry a begging bowl into those negotiations. I for one wont be surprised by a decent run in the shares during the next few weeks.
