10/3/2006 16:11 | and just to back up the theory - have bought another 50k at 6.15 in the back of my mind is LDC. they have held off buying epe for quite a while and recently been increasing their stake. They have made a 200-300% return on recent investments eg BTX and PMK and I believe they can do so here too I would like to join them The Chinese education market is just a huge mkt for epe | gagner2006
10/3/2006 14:30 | so epe's stake worth 4.1mn now and mkt cap of epe still 3mn. Less than the current listed value of its number one investment... Double hmmmmm | gagner2006
10/3/2006 14:29 | ceg now 48p mid | gagner2006
08/3/2006 22:33 | Problem is it's a house of cards, the old A B C shuffle. | encarter
08/3/2006 19:19 | ceg still climbing, up to 47p mid on ofex now. i wonder how much of the stake epe are selling, if any, at the moment | gagner2006
07/3/2006 17:34 | Remember the initial 12% stake in ceg was purchased for 994,000 or about 850,000 if you factor in the shares issuede to buy the stake were valued at 1.5 when they were trading lower in the mkt and that 12% alone (excluding convertible loan) is now worth £3mn (12% of 24.55mn per www.ofex.com) So I think we should take them seriously when they state similar type of business to ceg. Clearly the owners of ceg have benefitted from the epe relationship, but so have epe.. roll on the aquisition | gagner2006
07/3/2006 17:28 | and we will be due some news soon on the new aquisition: here is what they said in the 20 feb rns: "Following the recent successful fund raising, EPE is currently performing due diligence on a similar type of business to CEG in China, in which we are proposing to take a stake, details of which we hope to announce in the near future." | gagner2006
07/3/2006 16:39 | then say ceg doubles as indicated justifiable by IC then epe stake worth £7.6 mn, plus all the other stuff. bearing all this in mind I think epe should be valued around 15-20pence per share and I bet that is why LDC have been buying in too. Per betex and plus markets they like to treble or quadruple their investments | gagner2006
07/3/2006 16:38 | Bear in mind that the rns on 20.2 noted that at the current ceg price (39 i think) the epe stake was worth 3.3mn. Now the price of ceg is 46.5, a near 20% increase. so say 15% in case my share price data is slightly out, the epe stake is worth 3.8mn. And they have English 2000 language school (profitable) and the other business developments and cash from the recent convertible loan fundraising to support them. Current cap at £3mn, hmmmm | gagner2006
07/3/2006 16:00 | just bought another 37.5k at 6.15 company valued at 3mn, less than current assets with no value put in for developing business opportunities | gagner2006
06/3/2006 20:30 | wish i had sold some this morning. i would have made 30% in a month. Oh well, willing to hang on until some serious rises now ..... | davehome
06/3/2006 09:27 | Some nice delayed buys coming in now. Breakout, next stop 10p. | encarter
06/3/2006 08:24 | Education spending boost Spending on education is expected to take up a record 4% of China's gross domestic product during the coming five years, up from the current level of 2.79%, state media reported. Minister of Education Zhou Ji said the increased funding would boost vocational training for its massive rural migrant labor force and help guarantee compulsory education. China implemented the Compulsory Education Law 20 years ago. Last year, primary school attendance hit 99.15%, while junior high school enrolment reached 95%, up 6% from 2000, although drop-out rates were high in some areas, ministry statistics show. | boonboon
05/3/2006 20:36 | Some shares still slushing about. Once mopped up the price will be able to take off imho. | timely
05/3/2006 20:12 | have put epe on the ups thread. it seems quite remarkable to me that a company investing in chinese education (a massive massive growth sector at the mo) is not valued at a substantial premium. just off the investors radar imho | gagner2006
03/3/2006 21:53 | Most read IC over the weekend so expect more buying monday. | encarter
03/3/2006 19:42 | no unless u sign up and pay the fee | gagner2006

03/3/2006 18:20 | yes they did, read it in London (thx whs) - it was a great piece applauding both CEG and EPE - but saying go for epe | gagner2006
03/3/2006 18:19 | Investors Chronicle tipped EPE apparantly. | timely
03/3/2006 13:10 | Keep going..not before time........watch this space?? Merc | mercedes
