Yes after reading his Europa posts, he didnt report on the outcome of the withdrawal of resolutions and 2 BODs having to resign before they were voted off. It doesnt appear unbiased so I would expect he is being paid for something, probably his broadcasts. So another person to take at less than face value.

many posters have said malcy is paid by the companies he interviews. if that's true it's hard to see how he is impartial despite not owning shares

I understand that Malcy does not hold any positions in the junior O&G sector, despite devoting his study and analysis to it — presumably because he can then claim impartiality.

I get the point, but to my mind there is nothing wrong with eating your own cooking. It's OK to say “I see better prospects elsewhere, and so I'm not a holder” or “because I like this company, I own shares in it”.

GreyPanther - EOG have made it very clear, it’s one well and 2 sidetracks, estimated cost in total is c.$50mil. In which EOG/Antler will be free carried.

He should be on a more reasonable £150,000 salary & bonuses from 3.5p, not paid for PR bullsh1t with Directors taking all the profits & none of the risk!!

Hi Tommy231. The chances of anyone (EOG or the operator) getting a free carry for three wells in EG are next to nil, in my opinion. That's the number of wells they must to drill to have a better than 90% chance of success, which is basd on what EOG have stated.

I thought the plan was to farm out EG not try to drill it ourselves - a farm in for all three prospects, so not an additional financial drain. If we don’t want to believe the mathematical probability we can just say the prospects are not independent, so this calculation doesn’t apply. Haven’t got evidence either way on that.

Hi meanreverter. I came up with the same(90%+) CoS that you've shown in your calculations but unfortunately I don't believe it. EOG would have to drill all three prospects to have a near certainty of making one discovery, and before that happened we would be bankrupt. I'd agree, though, that that EOG's geologist must have disregarded at least one geological risk factor in calculating the odds. I wonder if it was an important one!
