"Europa Oil and Gas chief Hugh Mackay said a positive find by Nexen would be "utterly transformative" for Ireland and could create "a new Brent province" off the west coast of Ireland. "

Cnooc will most likely drill this summer.
The weather window is very small.
But you're totally right FB, we need crystallisation of our farm outs or we could be spending good money after bad, further "working these up".
Here's hoping that following this strategy is based on more than a 'Hughie hunch' because so far, his hunches have been way mis aligned with the market!!
All imho of course.

That's all great, but when are they going to drill any of it?

Do we think that the political climate in Ireland vis a vis oil drilling is making this a wait and see game?

CNOOC International is a key player in the Irish Atlantic Margin, located offshore Western Ireland.

CNOOC International is the acting operator for four licenses and has equity in a further two, covering the West Porcupine, Slyne Erris and Goban Spur basins. These licenses lie in an emerging play comparable to the Flemish Pass Basin, offshore Newfoundland.

In 2018, CNOOC International reached an agreement with ExxonMobil to exchange equity in adjacent exploration licenses in the Porcupine basin offshore southwest Ireland. As part of the agreement, CNOOC International acquired 25 percent equity in frontier exploration license 5/18 and 6/18 and ExxonMobil acquired 50 percent equity in the CNOOC International-operated frontier exploration license 3/18.In

CNOOC International will continue to operate frontier exploration license 3/18, and ExxonMobil will be the operator of 5/18 and 6/18.

A drilling company. hxxps://www.radialdrilling.com

An animation.

Hugh seems quite excited by his achievement at WF 6.
Where else would it be applicable, I wonder?

While investors aren't convinced - with a mkt.cap. of £12m it wouldn't take much for this to double or treble.

Hugh has responded and the farm out of 16/20 is still on until such time as the current interested partner signs the deal .. fair enough .. and in addition he mentioned he received the offer before the data room was opened which is interesting.

Wonder who it is ?

No disrespect to Hugh and the team but I made a small fortune thanks to Faroe a long time ago when Dana were being bought out by CNOOC .. FPM were drilling Lagaavulin and I bought shares in Parkmead who had a good holding in FPM and nothing else. Lagavulin was a duster but Tom Cross ended up at Parkmead and I got a 16 bagger out of it.

Now what if Graham Stewart and the team were to come aboard EOG ? Wow that would lift things up and get this company interesting the big investment FIs

Just a thought

No one believes it. Especially the long suffering shareholder who have had zero profit on the investment and are holding paper losses.

DNO have now taken over Faroe. They had three Irish licences, two in the Celtic sea and one near Corrib (LO16/23, Corrib East). That was farmed out to Nexen (80%) for a carry on seismic and a well if drilled. Perhaps DNO may not be interested in Ireland, this would make a nice addition for EOG though. No indication that any seismic has yet been done as far as I know.

Very timeous newslatter Mr CP . I have asked Hugh about the farm out PLUS the fact he is still looking for farm out partners for 16/20 - I suppose it is only fair given that the deal isn't signed yet or maybe the two are now looking for a third partner?

Off to look at all the major oil companies who identify a North West Europe Division...

Good news though ..
