24/10/2018 16:29 | I asked Hugh what they were up to at West Firsby - at least some detail of their expectations and costs but he said they would have to tell the market first. I do hope than that this news is imminent, it is good and that above all the 8 barrels is brought back into production ... The EA assessment is fairly detailed in what they are attempting although they do mention it is fairly expensive .. | jusmasel99
24/10/2018 16:09 | Well then you could move over to Predator (Not!) They take optimism to new levels in their presentation today. Already planning for development wells 6 & 7 at Corrib in 2024/25 They haven't even run fackin seismic yet ... Unbelievable .. | jusmasel99
24/10/2018 15:51 | It shows that the management are a shambles. I have lost faith in them completely. Nothing to show after nearly 10 years. Pitiful. | guesswhosback2
24/10/2018 10:19 | At Bury Hill Wood, he said: “They had ex security service personnel, which was interesting to watch their activities, rather than public affairs consultants. “We did advise them at every stage to actually get some proper advice. “I think they were quite surprised that they just couldn’t walk in and just drill over one of the most scenic parts of the south east.” •DrillOrDrop invited Angus Energy and Europa to comment on Cllr Hall’s points. Neither company responded but this post will be updated if they do. | currypasty
24/10/2018 10:13 | At Bury Hill Wood, he said an oil exploration project had been in the planning system for more than nine years, including public inquiries and court cases. It was withdrawn only in September when the Environment Secretary refused to renew the lease on Forestry Commission land (DrillOrDrop report) Cllr Hall said: “It was up a sunken lane, behind Leith Hill, right in the middle of the AONB [Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty], the least accessible point in the county almost.” He said the company had not done a proper transport assessment and it went to the planning committee at least three times on highways issues because a marshalling area, required by a planning inspector, did not have the owner’s consent. “The first one was at Rykas [café] at the bottom of Box Hill. Somebody went into Rykas the week of the planning committee and said ‘What do you know?’. They knew nothing. “The second time, it was the service station at Cobham on the M25. Again, there was correspondence before the meeting: ‘What do you know about this?’ ‘We know nothing, we don’t agree to this.’ “And the last time, which is quite amusing in its own way, they put out to consultation to use a layby on the M25 next to junction 9 only to meet the county planners the next day but also the police and Highways England. Highways England and the police both said ‘We’re not going to have demonstrators all over junction 9, get lost.’ So they had to withdraw it.” Cllr Hall said: “They did no proper consultation with the residents affected and they only had one serious access point which was one small lane full of agricultural premises and small businesses.” | currypasty
24/10/2018 10:10 | post by taucuma on lse... "It appears that Councillor Tim Hall has appeared in front of an All Party Parliamentary Group at Westminster to discuss the woeful lack of professionalism regarding planning submissions in the Weald. I'm a little embarrassed at the content of the discussion and the way that our Company representatives were regarded. I have advocated many times here that there was a woeful lack of senior management representation at the Planning meetings in Surrey. It transpires that I and many other on here were right. I too are beginning to agree or at least see the points of view expressed by other posters that maybe, just maybe, a different captain of the good ship Europa should be steered by a different Skipper. I have said many times that I believe that Hugh is one of the most technically competent Geologists in his area of expertise, but, is that enough to go the final hurdle into production, which nobody can deny has been a bit of a let down. I really don't want to repeat my previous list of projects that our Company has walked away from in the past. We have it all in front of us , for Gods sake let someone make it happen before I die. 23/10/2018 16:08 | wressle not on agenda for planning next week... after that its end nov | currypasty
23/10/2018 12:07 | I don't think the councillors realise very much .. it is down the Council's legal department to persuade them of that argument. Egdon has surely covered all of the inspectors comments and that would mean the councillors would have to basically disagree with the result of the original appeal which is absurd but I believe absurdity is their strong point. As I have said before and to Hugh, I hope their representative at the hearing will not try to speak about the merits of the application only the pragmatism of approving it against a very costly appeal process in which they will claim costs when they win. | jusmasel99
23/10/2018 10:27 | I think they are spineless and genuinely avoid decisions that impact votes. | guesswhosback2
23/10/2018 10:03 | surely the North Lincs council will realise that if they turn down Wressle again, it will be immediately appealed and this time everything from last appeal negatives will have been addressed.. so why would they waste more taxpayers cash? | currypasty
19/10/2018 06:43 | I guess lots can't happen until the CPPIB/Vermillion deal is finalised. Taking forever. Interesting snippet from the results ... "Given these circumstances, the Company is confident its dual focused strategy to fund an Inishkea exploration well will be successful either by securing industry partners via a conventional farmout or financial partners investing directly into the Company†If we do go it alone then it was always a concern of the amount of dilution that would be required from such a small Mcap to fund such a drill. Financial Partners Investing directly into this new company avoids that and would leave us with a more manageable debt load against hopefully a significant share of the well result. The PVR Druid well started this way if memory serves me right - they had financial backing but no farm ins until well into the run up to the drill itself when first Cairn and then Total farmed in. In my opinion it is looking more and more likely that we will commence the process of drilling a well in Inishkea next year sooner rather than later and I can only presume that when that announcement is made the share price will get a substantial lift. PVR started the ball rolling by announcing a call to tender for rig early in NOvember I think. Mmmmmm | jusmasel99
19/10/2018 04:12 | I dont suppose he can say anything that would be deemed inside. It just looks like we have to ride this out and hope for the best. I would suggest most people are underwater here so just relying on others to perform or not. | guesswhosback2
18/10/2018 22:03 | Hugh never shies away from questions. | hermana3
18/10/2018 21:56 | Ah there we are, I thought I'd seen something for mid November. Hopefully open to Q&A's at the end, so if nothing mentioned regarding data room I'm sure there will be a few questions around this hopefully? | dunderheed

18/10/2018 15:49 | Joe - wtgr if these were as good as people feel on here - they would probably have gone already but it is still within reasonable time period for exact commercial t's and c's being worked up (even though a bit 'simple' 'off the shelf' stuff). This is as previously mooted on here and all imho. This is what concerns me - people are getting increasingly excited about Inishkea now - which 'should' come up with a farm down (there is also a lot of other competition out there for this potential capex spend as well, which I alluded to over on LSE if you ever read there) - but there is a wealth of difference between marginal stuff around a producing field with infrastructure in place and more green field 'frontier' stuff. That is a lot more 'hit and miss'. EOG clearly have 'volume' but is it of sufficient quality? I am hoping that the upcoming investors presentation during November is more than just Inishkea re-worked 'figures on paper' and perhaps optimistically I am hoping for some farm down news from this data room?! Funnily enough I just bumped into an ex colleague of mine (today) who is the data room Co-Ordinator for his relevant area for a good sized independent and he was remarking how busy they were with NV stuff. He isn't responsible for N Sea_Atlantic margin now though lol!! As ever all imho and dyor of course. | dunderheed
18/10/2018 15:28 | nobody seems to have snapped their hand off... Do we know this for certain? They may be waiting to see what bids they have received at the end of the show. | joestalin

18/10/2018 07:53 | Today's RNS from Highlands: "The Company will file up to 104 well permits with the COGCC prior to the November 6th vote on a change in the Colorado Revised Statutes, called Proposition 112. This Proposition aims to increase the well setback limits from 500-feet for occupied buildings and 1,000-feet from school structures to 2,500-feet for all structures and vulnerable areas. Although similar propositions have failed in the past, the Company has been advised that by filing the permits prior to the ballot it has minimized the potential risk posed by Proposition 112." ... and the residents living near Holmwood thought they had it bad. Potential for 104 wells close to schools. | itsriskythat
18/10/2018 07:06 | Shame we couldn't even get to drill Holmwood | guesswhosback2
17/10/2018 18:43 | Umm I'm left holding the baby, lazily expecting a stopped clock may be right at least twice a day! You never know, Hugh has bought a lot of shares with his own money and is quite underwater I'd say? I know that means nothing as he could be 'in love' with the geology but, it is all I've got and what I am placing my hopes on lol!! Good to see you posting a bit more regularly. | dunderheed
17/10/2018 18:34 | I still have a residual holding here. | ngms27 |
