AGM 14th December

In my opinion, another year of poor progress following the previous 5 years of poor progress under Hugh McKay’s tenure.

SP performance over the last 6 years has been dreadful. Back in August 2011 “On appointment, Mr Mackay will be granted options, expiring after ten years from the date of grant, over 5,000,000 ordinary shares with an exercise price of 13p. The share options will vest in five equal tranches when the share price of the Company has been at or above 25 pence, 35 pence, 45 pence, 50 pence and 60 pence respectively for a period of 30 consecutive trading days”.

Hasn’t got anywhere near achieving that performance level or even the exercise price, so recently lowered the bar and granted options at 6p vesting at 10p! Outrageous.

What have we to look forward to in 2018?
- Wressle goes into production: I believe this will happen and should lift the SP
- Holmwood exploration drill Q1 2018: Not a hope in hell in my opinion, neither will it happen in Q2, Q3, Q4, if at all. LHAG will continue to run rings around Hugh and his team.
- Ireland: not sure what events will lead to a “meaningful221; farm out so not expecting much there either.
- share price remains range bound 5p-9p: highly likely

I am firmly of the belief that management changes are required to have any chance of realising our fantastic asset base in a timely fashion and my vote is placed. I believe Proxy votes need to be in by 8th December. Hopefully the large investors see it the same way.

Yes CP - and they get their heating oil delivered in tanker trucks. Irony? They do not know the meaning of the word.

Is there more to the UPL & EOG relationship that meets the eye?
Wonder if EOG were / are considering the North Sea with UPL, after EOG's recent comments in from their Prelims....

they had better have a clause, that's what you pay legal team for

Nobody notice that UPL farmed into a pretty heavy financial commitment yesterday in the Moray Firth?

Good news for us if it comes in and we have the shares in UPL that are part of the Wressle farm out. Bad news if Hugh hasn't got a clause regarding dilution before deal is done ...

Comment 1:

"At about 4.30 this morning, campaigners said they occupied the so-called “Gatwick Gusher” oil site at Horse Hill in Surrey. They said they wanted to raise awareness about climate change, air and water pollution and the industrialisation of the countryside."

Comment 2:

"Opponents, including the local county councillor, said the scheme would increase the footprint of the site by 25%. They said the structures were incompatible with the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and were inappropriate development of the green belt. Leith Hill Action Group (LHAG) has argued that the proposal was a “significant alteration” of the original planning permission granted by an inspector after a public inquiry in 2015."

.....

I can't imagine for a minute, why it will be necessary to have a tall fence around the Holmwood site.

CP not ramping here but yes I think within one year they will double again. When the fcf plus associated profits start to kick in, plus Columbus plus free carry exploration well, as well I think still major upside!! 're eog you're right and may buy a few more to add to my modest holding!!

Jus I'll have a chat when i have time with some bd guys i know who were looking at Irish assets for clarification 're new applications and previous well histories, as that certainly was not the case in the areas I have experience in! Generally speaking my experience is you give back the licences you lose all rights to (potential) confidentiality.
On a separate note looking forward to sqz re-listing hopefully tomorrow!

DH - did some research on that this morning and as this is the original licence area we are talking about it falls under the 1992 act which describes confidentiality.

There are minimum periods one of which is two years after relinquishment so we know the data was released in October 2017 which means that it was still confidential in October 2015. So potential licence applicants in the last round would not have had access to the well data with the exception of Statoil (discounting Vermillion).

I am sure Hugh will know that he cannot release any information on the well without the permission of the Irish Minister according to the 1992 act .. so maybe that is why it is taking so long although remember he will only have the same information that I have (well more actually) I could get the same detail but it would mean nothing to me.

Some more interesting research to put all this into persepective - the original Corrib discovery well was P&A. It was only two years later that they drilled the appraisal. So carrying out the seabed survey the next year kind of falls in line with a decision at that time to develop the well.

Good point DH but I think DECCAE have a built in oeriod where all data is private to the person who paid for it. I believe that you oould have bought this information prior to it being released into the public domain. Across the pond Statoil drill data from Bay du Nord was also released publicly - they operate a two year privacy embargo.

And by the way it is not for DECCAE to decide whether or not it is a discovery or not - I think you can see that off the IPAS record .... DECCAE would hold a record of the well not the reservoir target ..

Jus upon relinquishment by Shell the government could release data if it were to add to appeal of block hence, surely if this really were an economic discovery this would have happened when block was being marketed?
Not saying that is the case but, must make better business sense for Irish DECC?
