First, the proposed legislation prohibits the issuance of new exploration concessions in France, although existing exploration concessions may be converted to production concessions in the event of hydrocarbon discoveries. Vermilion is largely unaffected by this change. Our French investment activities are overwhelmingly concentrated in development projects on existing fields in existing production concessions. In a limited set of existing exploration concessions, we do intend to conduct seismic and drilling operations, and in these cases, the proposed legislation allows conversion to production concessions if exploration is successful. Second, the proposed legislation puts a limit on renewals of existing production concessions at 2040, with certain exceptions which may allow for a longer production term.

Vermillion just announced a relatively upbeat update on French Climate Legislation. They feel pretty secure and will continue to invest in new wells. Heavens above - the next thing you know Val de Tarbes will be back on line!

Jus - Its a difficult one to compare against. ANGS, SOLO, UJO, no one really in the same boat with Ireland licences and onshore UK.

I guess whats is disappointing is the share price BUT if we had success in Ireland we would be multiples. Even Wressel and Holmwood are going to get approved one day.

I do put my head in to the UKOG board from time to time and that is some crazy place. Even they are down over 50% in the last few months and they think they have found the biggest oil find in the UK.

DH so why is it down to me then to get the list. Why don't you ask them and provide it to me on here? I do my own research thanks maybe you might like to do some too?

Just copying this from the other board .. (and no I don't think ANGS should be on the list of peers)

An indication to ANGS Today of just what it takes to run and operate a UK Onshore Oil company. ANGS valued at 3 to 4 times EOG and with no production at the moment. EOG only just breaking even (gross) on 113bpd. More importantly - if you have a look at the report and see the massive amount of in house work we are doing developing our portfolio of Irish Assets as well as working on Wressle and Holmwood and then consider our Admin expenses compared to ANGS there is an INCREDIBLE Difference.

For the YEAR EOG Admin expenses = £553,000

For 6 MONTHS ANGS Admin Expenses = £939,000

Basically 4 times our expenses to look after two small fields - exactly the same number of fields we have in production.

and to TOP that - the chances are that Holmwood will intersect the same Kimmeridge layers found at Brockham and we would have MORE acreage exposure to the Kimmeridge than ANGS.

If I were an ANGS shareholder I would definitely be climbing on board here because at some stage we are going to be valued at more than ANGS and right now just to get to parity our share price needs to be 20p...

Jus ffs I keep on telling you it is not me to provide this list it is EOG?
I have an idea of who I would use as a comparator but I have no idea whom EOG does - hence need to understand why there wasn't some form of recognition of share price under performance?

It is all very well to continually look forward however sometimes a little better to look back and see what was said previously and what was actually delivered?

re 6030 - I agree - but why wasn't this landed earlier with more pro-active mgt?!
All imho of course.

DH - I anticipated a higher avg OP and revenue of £2m which would have had us break even. I don't look back - I look forward. 6 Months is all he needs - during that time Wressle will be either in production or close to it and either Holmwood has been drilled or the entire UK Onshore Oil and Gas industry will have closed until further notice due to problems with local planning authorities.

If you can just give me that list of peers you keep referring to then I can make some progress towards answering your comments about their amazing performance relative to ours.

Cheers

Great that there are no 'nastys' in there.. full year results can sometimes throw up all sorts of things.. all looks pretty straight forward. Just need the Wressle appeal decision, and the Holmwood final traffic management plan to be agreed.

"Europa expects this activity will lead to up to a dozen wells being drilled
across the region over the next five or six years".

Re Atlantic Ireland, seems optimistic, we know of just one I think (Nexen) at the moment.

Any serious suggestions now for raising the share price today? ....

Announce an immediate change of name from Europa Oil and Gas (very last century) to Echo Energy UK & Ireland.

I'll comment more after I have read it again but this stands out as being new ..

New Ventures

We are actively evaluating high impact new venture opportunities outside of our
core areas in Ireland and the UK.

I wonder if our partnership with UPL might by worth a little more than just Hardstoft and Wressle ?

Do you want them sacked?

If only the BBC could put together a report with actual facts on it and perhaps interview one of the hundreds of thousands of shareholders in the UK oil and Gas Industry that support and understand conventional oil exploration maybe just maybe they might come up with a balanced and unbiased version.

I suspect that many of them live in the people's republic of Tooting.

Tonight I am relaxing in the Plough Inn at Coldharbour. It is perplexing me why anyone here would want to stop the Holmwood drill going ahead. People in the pub are unlike the Coldharbour locals I saw at the planning meeting. Not a beard in sight tonight, talk is all about enterprise and money. Wealthy area here. A Land rover, two Mercedes and now a Ferrari parked outside the pub.

When SCC say that Europa is not engaging with the community here, the people protesting are not those who go to the local.

Hi Jus, I and many other's really do appreciate your research. And I agree that positivity is the way to go... But it does make me wonder if you're Huge-Hugh?! ;p

But either way, we have massive potential and I find nothing wrong with stating the potential of our little company!

For me, and potential new investors, I'd like to see a bullet point list, of dates and events AND the potential upside! I'm lazy so I hope you have the time to do it Jus!? ;p

I have to admit I've been in-out-in-out-shake-it-all-about! .. of recent times here, but now I'm firmly in at 5.6.. having taken the hit from the 35p days!

Although I feel the Euorpa PR need a good 'ol 'Shake and bake!' (Talledaga nights)

Another possible resource is tight gas, which the OGA recently launched a study into, focusing on the southern North Sea.
“The Southern North Sea tight gas play holds over 2 Tcf in discovered, but undeveloped accumulations,”; says Dave Moseley, manager - Reports, NW Europe at research group, Westwood Global Energy Group. And there is further potential in undrilled exploration prospects and infill drilling opportunities, which could increase estimates to 3.8 Tcf, according to the OGA. But, Moseley warns, most developments are reliant on current infrastructure remaining open for business.
Some are already active. BP, which retained interests in the Carboniferous play when it sold out of the southern gas basin in 2012, is now drilling an exploration program south of the Ravenspurn field, targeting a new tight gas play in the Namurian.
“This was encouragingly sidetracked with a development leg in June,” Moseley says. “If the several-hundred Bcf pre-drill potential can be realized this may help extend the life of Ravenspurn, which is currently expected to reach cessation of production in around 2021. However, even in the event of success, discoveries like this remain the exception rather than the norm in a basin of this maturity.”

Found this tucked away ... very interesting and encouraging ..

he BP-operated Ravenspurn North Deep well in the same region (Premier carried 5% interest) is testing the potential of a deep Carboniferous age horizon underlying the Ravenspurn North field.
Drilling has started of a lateral side track for production testing, after successful completion of the vertical pilot hole.

Can't imagine what that could be other than results - but the Oil Price is booming and we are most definitely in profit now ...

Wressle becomes even more significant in the next couple of weeks - this time I am confident (as written above) that all will be 'well'....
