This is why I found patt's story about being the son of a Holocaust Survivor so fascinating. There are very few people alive today that can bear witness to what happened to the Jewish diaspora during the Holocaust. To have a parent that could give you a first hand account of Kristallnacht and other horrors prior to the exterminations and after is just as fascinating.

The works by Primo Levi are also a good read.

The Jewish genocide was 1941 to 1945. The Jewish Holocaust started 1933.
