Italy MDC producing power and making money

Shareholder loans can be repayed on refinance but the equity in the project will remain with dividend payment to follow.

Biochar sales between €500-€800/tonne. The biochar is currently being examined by a Swiss lab to determine the quality and hence the price it can be sold for.

Two local industrial customers could be interested in heat offtake. This is being looked at as a third revenue stream

Updated revenue profile will be announced mid march/early april.

Italia MDC will have improved sales/profit potential and reduced costs as a result of recent enhancements to the spec that are now built in and live:

The financial model for the plant currently forecasts revenues of around €2.6mln and EBITDA of €1.0mln a year.
No doubt these projections will be reviewed at the end of March after a full month of running.
EQT's share of the project is 19.99%.

Two additional revenue streams.
Firstly, the opportunity to sell heat generated to a neighbouring factory.
Secondly, there is a by-product, biochar, which can be sold for something like €500-800/t for use for soil improvement and remediation in agriculture.

Reduced costs:
When MNRG entered into the development of this electricity generation project, the management was budgeting on buying in the fuel (woodchips) for €75/t. Having installed a drier, the plant can new buy wetter woodchips which are less processed and cheaper coming at something like €50-55/t. This all would suggest a substantial reduction in operating costs.

An additional feed-in system so that the Plant can accommodate both low-density and high-density feedstocks. These augmentations will allow the Plant to vary its feedstocks as market conditions change.

M4rtinu. For Deeside they could announce a new potential buyer to replace the one who dropped out late last year.

It seems you speak Italian. If you are going to Italy in the summer, request a pass from the EQT management to see over the MDC and post a report here on your return!
I expect journalists from the MSM and Alternative Energy publications will start lining up to visit and publish reports as well.

The Italia MDC will be great news. Just a shame there will be a Deeside update to come, almost same day. But the Italia operation will, as you say, open the way for more of the same in S Europe.

As potential partners will be getting (free?) visits to Italy perhaps Eqtec could do a ballot for some shareholders to go too ;)

Those 50 million late trades along with some of the 87 million turnover could indicate the overhang has been cleared?

With Metal NRG announcing yesterday the commercial operation of the Italia MDC via Align Research it would seem likely the market will be informed by EQT and MNRG with corresponding RNS's on Monday with confirmation and more details.

This could be the news that unblocks a number of developments with FC's following. The Croatia MDC, 1.5 MW, would be a key FC as they need to be going some to get the plant upgraded and in operation this year.
FC here was said to be dependant on a site visit to an operational Italia MDC which could now take place.
