The sanctions and legal actions are carried out by Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, alongside regulatory bodies such as the State Geologic and Subsoil Survey of Ukraine (SGSS). The involvement of these individuals and their associated companies is likely linked to broader geopolitical and security concerns, particularly in the context of Russia-Ukraine relations.

As for the individuals involved, there is limited publicly available information about each of them specifically, especially regarding their whereabouts or detailed personal backgrounds. Here's a brief rundown based on the available data:

1. Andreas Sophocleous:
Role: A shareholder in Proteas Trustee Services Limited and Proteas Trustees Limited, which manage Cypriot trusts that hold significant indirect shareholdings in Enwell Energy.
Background: Known for involvement in trust and corporate services, potentially linked to Russian business interests through his role as trustee. Not much is publicly available about his personal wealth or activities beyond his professional trustee roles.
Current Location: Likely based in Cyprus, as the trustee entities are registered there.
2. Konstantina Alkiviadous:
Role: Another trustee involved in the same Cypriot trusts as Andreas Sophocleous, managing a portion of the indirect shareholding in Enwell Energy.
Background: Like Sophocleous, she is likely a professional involved in trust management and corporate structuring. The exact nature of her wealth or any personal details is not widely disclosed.
Current Location: Likely in Cyprus, considering the registration of the trusts.
3. Elena Iona:
Role: Trustee of the same Cypriot trusts as Sophocleous and Alkiviadous, managing major indirect holdings in Enwell Energy.
Background: Very little is publicly available regarding her specific activities or personal wealth. She shares the same responsibilities as the other trustees in managing these holdings.
Current Location: Likely Cyprus, based on her trustee roles.
4. Afrodite Loukiadou:
Role: Also a trustee linked to the Cypriot trusts managing Enwell Energy’s indirect shareholdings.
Background: Similar to the others, she is a professional trustee, but no further personal details are available in the public domain.
Current Location: Likely in Cyprus, given her role as trustee of a Cyprus-registered trust.
Summary:
These individuals are likely based in Cyprus, as they are involved in managing Cypriot trusts, which are often used for asset protection and corporate structuring. Their role as trustees of these entities with significant shareholdings in Enwell Energy appears to have triggered their involvement in the Ukrainian sanctions, likely due to their perceived links to Russian interests. There isn’t much publicly available personal information about their wealth or activities outside of their roles as trustees.

As a long-term holder of ENW, the war between Ukraine and Russia badly damaged not only the citizens of both Countries but also hit the economies hard.

Looking forward to end of the war. Political solution is the only way forward. Look at the mess the war has left Countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Palestine.West V East.
Hopefully, end of conflict in February/March. Once war is over, ENW should recover quickly.

Well I hope you're right. I have been invested for many years as you say through the Regal years & I have feared the worst since the war etc. Now at last maybe there is some light but I still have no idea what is going on.

Ccconroy Some of us who have been in this company(plus RPT) never really understood/understand the dynamics behind it. The war being being an exception but it has not curtailed oil production. We need to understand how business is conducted in Ukraine to have a clue of what is going on. Long-term shares who did not sell-out deserve rewards for investing in it. Sit tight and enjoy the ride

Can I ask your opinion about Enwell? I find it very confusing as I had the dividend & expected the worse. This current rally is a nice surprise but no idea where it's heading & why it's bouncing back???

Haha !
The key issue for this company is whether they will be 'allowed' to operate in terms of permitting and operating the finance function, without harassment.
These are the areas that we need guidance from the board on, together with the issue of who the largest shareholder is and the capital management policy.

From a t/a point of view, the company appears to be gaining support...

The Russians are looking to shore-up their borders and want Crimea. Sooner or later, Peace settlement will be agreed.
At least licence issue is resolved. We just need the war to be over soon and not like Iraq or Afghanistan
