Well done all holders this raly and the previous divi. Well it's now better than the spike...Still enough money in the company to give away more divis to cover share price Even if company was forced closed tomorrow.

2 RNS out today with Smart Energy disposing 16.53% each to Maria Sokratous and Charoula Sofokleous respectively both in Cyprus. Smart Energy had 83% of ENW's share capital before today's announcement. Disposal of 33% plus float of 13% still makes less than 51% to make the ownership issue with the Ukrainian Government go away.

Why has this gone up by 26% today? I know special dividend announced of 15p. Why would people buy this at 30p with a 15p dividend as it will be delisted until it has found auditors? I hope it will return to these levels post audit and re-listing. Am I missing something?

I don't see how the Ukrainian government can stop the payment.
Obviously, the Ukrainian assets are under threat - if not indeed already lost.
So, an effective price of 7p (ex-dividend) is rather a lot, taken all in all.
It's possible that the rampers will get hold of this, and the share price will rise before the dividend date. If so, get what you can!!!

Company has plenty of available cash outside Ukraine to pay the dividend. My estimate is about £66 million with say 320 million shares and dividend at £0.15 cost of dividend will be about £48 million leaving cash balance outside Ukraine at about £18 million. These are just my estimated figures so please do your own research and calculations.

This is disappointing. I guess the previous company history is putting auditing companies off abroad? Can we expect a special dividend.

Is it not possible for the majority shareholder in question, as mentioned in the news, to just sell up or transfer his holdings, so ENW can move on, and be excluded from the legislation to take effect from 28 March 2023 ??

Well, that wasn't unexpected. The Ukrainian government has decided not to let a good crisis (war!) go to waste and finally reckon up with the oligarchs. About time.
The new law is clearly targeted at Novinsky, amongst others. Essentially, he's been branded a traitor due to his close association with the Moscow Patriarchate and chief Russian warmonger Patriarch Kirill.
So what happens next? Novinsky could hurriedly sell his shares in Enwell in the hope that Enwell will get to keep its licences (though that's far from guaranteed). Enwell could accept the loss if its Ukrainian operations and become a cash shell. Or it could pay out the cash pile held abroad (the money in Ukraine is likely "lost") in a special dividend and shut up shop. Or, and this is most likely, there will be a Ukrainian twist in the tale which "disappears" the cash and leaves minority shareholders with nothing. This is a pure gamble now, and most likely a losing one.
BTW, if you want an example of the inefficiency of AIM, take a look at FXPO. They haven't RNSed anything yet, but this law applies to them as much as it applies to Enwell. And their oligarch, majority shareholder Konstantin Zhevago, is actually under arrest in France and awaiting extradition to Ukraine. I'm confident that FXPO is a better short than ENW is a good long!!!

Yes, the court rulings AGAINST Enwell on matters on which they had previously ruled FOR Enwell were a red flag. Ukrainian courts are incredibly corrupt (I know this well!), but even a big bribe doesn't buy a direct reversal of a previous ruling like that. Only political influence can.
To be honest, I'm surprised it took so long for the Ukrainians to act.
I've no idea how this plays out now. Maybe there will be some pieces to pick up at some point. But my instinct is telling me ENW shares may well be worthless (the Ukrainian subsidiaries will be seized via the courts, the money held offshore will be spirited away in darkness).
