I'm holding personally. I would have topped up a couple k at these prices but I spent all my coins topping up tern yesterday. Ready to take your short profit yet, Brimmers? It could be the difference between Fortnums or Aldi for your Christmas dinner. The German market in Birmingham was a nice stroll through the city with my wife last night, in other news.

Looking at the 25k sells, you could be tricked into thinking that someone was trying to pull the price down.

I can understand somebody being wary of buying in at this stage without further news, but it is irrelevant to anyone already in.

From Motley Fool

A few weeks ago, holders of £78m cap exploration firm Empyrean Energy (LSE: EME) could be forgiven for feeling rather smug. The shares soared to almost 28p in September on the back of encouraging updates relating to the company’s Dempsey 1-15 gas well in the Sacramento Basin in California. Given that the very same shares changed hands for just 1p each 12 months earlier, that is a quite incredible return for those who got in early.

Since then, they have come off the boil somewhat. In addition to a likely spate of profit-taking, the price fell heavily on Tuesday following a disappointing statement from the company.

Despite announcing that flow-testing and completion of the well was “continuing as planned“, it was revealed that the natural gas found at the lowest zone was flowing at “sub-commercial” rates based on current market prices. Seeking to reassure its owners, Empyrean stated that the analysis of the zone and its potential remained “at an early stage” with CEO Tom Kelly adding that the company remained “optimistic221; on the well’s potential based on the “significant gas shows” found while drilling.

With the company now preparing to target the next shallower zone, I can see further volatility ahead. As such, I remain wary of the shares at the current time.

It was 2012 not 2013. They thought they had 180' of oil and it turned out to be water by the RNS's.
SCU #1 apparently.

Brimsley, you have a poor reputation on advfn for the spreading of lies that are easily verified.

TGG,
That's my point, we have pressure, the Well may flow in the next test zone, it may not, what we do know, is the Well will flow. I have topped up again today, and I am not selling any shares till excess of £1, I am happy to wait 2-3 years, I a have been in 11 years. I do think this is life changing

SGC have a poor reputation in Oz due to reporting a 150' oil leg that turned out to be water in 2013 shares went to 24c then back to 4c when truth came out

dodgydd, of course the pressure is there..... if there wasn't high pressure 2 miles underground, the physics textbooks would need rewriting.

Looking gift horses in the mouth, eh, buffy.Couldn't have any more positive signs of likely success short of the actual positive flow test result itself, and still there's fretting and gloom. This stage of things could be a lot more enjoyable if people focussed on what we already know.

Good God, what’s the matter with so many of you?

This is exactly why companies should say nothing until they finish testing.

If the pressure is there, it needs to come out. I'd happily take no more zone testing results up dates , Just an update indication multi zones if not a single zone flowing to production at a commercial rate. Time will tell.

I think we will be very unlucky if it is only the top two zones that flow...still the well will be for free.

Bit of a big call swampy! The Dempsey partners will have a very good idea from the logs. The fact that they're testing suggests they're either fairly confident or a bunch of chancers!
