18/1/2018 08:16 | Fracking the vertical stack might/might not increase the flow to a commercial rate (we don't know how thick the zone is) but presumably it will provide the JVP with info on the effect of the stimulation which may allow them to plan a horizontal side track/s for future holes etc | petercrosby
17/1/2018 20:26 | That's Q2. | richiiiee
17/1/2018 20:22 | more chance of shagging the Pope | deanroberthunt
17/1/2018 20:17 | Re-read the report Brimo, clearly states well stimulation Q1! If they knock some almond trees down on the way to 57p so be it! | richiiiee
17/1/2018 19:59 | There will be no fraccing in Q1 read the report the plan is to start field work in Q1 this may invovle getting consent to mow down a few more almond trees 57p lol enjoy | brimsley
17/1/2018 19:55 | The gas* damn IPhone!! ? | richiiiee
17/1/2018 19:55 | You have done the right thing, it's not just he has EME are in play for, patience is a virtue! | richiiiee
17/1/2018 19:18 | Btw - Q1 2018 I'm pretty sure must mean calendar quarter; surely financial quarter would only be used in a financial context? | terry hardacre
17/1/2018 19:12 | Hey TG, funnily enough I took a very small position in HUR today in the missus's ISA as a bottom drawer thing, but will leave it at that. Yes, should have got in there sooner, but I did bloody well out of them last year, so not fussed about timing it perfectly.I also put an additional modest chunk of these in her ISA today. I know that I'm subject to my positive focus here, so am guarded about sounding too evangelical. I don't share your pessimism possibly because I have adjusted to a longer timescale here. It may take a few months before we really start to see some action because the fraccing exercise on these deepest zones isn't going to yield the commercial result that's going to transform the share price imo, and we'll need to move onto the X's to get that. Still confident there's every reason to expect a good final result on Dempsey, in which event the read-across to Alvares will augment the positive effect on the share price. Not to mention obviously the other, arguably more important, prospects for EME - for me, this year, happy to sit and wait in one or two shares with very good prospects. If you think the situation is more dubious I'll be happy to take that PoV from someone like you who has his head screwed on and isn't just an arch-ramper/deramper | terry hardacre
17/1/2018 17:42 | I haven't sold a single share today although I definitely should have. What concerns me most at this particular zone is that I have seen posts saying that fraccing can increase production 35 fold. Seeing as how I fart more gas every day than Demspey is sending to sales, 35 times that isn't going to be a lot. Anyway, we will find out the flow after the fraccing in quarter 1. Question; is Sacgasco talking about calendar or financial quarter? I think the latter. The master plan to make money on EME and then cream off the profit to place in HUR has failed. Today, EME down 7.98%, HUR up 5.52%. An opportunity missed. Story of my life! Are you back in HUR yet Terry? | the guardian
17/1/2018 16:29 | Saf. Thanks for your reply and I note your use of the word "understood"! To the best of my knowledge, Tom has never really confirmed what else we got with the Dempsey deal and, although the contract for these additional wells was presumably signed sometime before Dempsey spud on 2nd August, it would seem that we received zero income from the other "producing assets", as per the accounts to 30th September. None of that really bothers me as the amounts seem likely to be irrelevant. My comment last night of "Are we involved in this?" really related to the fact that SGC imply they have made "further acquisitions of additional natural gas wells and infrastructure", and I wondered if we were making further acquisitions with them as a JVP? I hope Frank passed on the information to Gaz, because he is probably permanently sunning himself on a beach in the middle of nowhere, enjoying a well earned retirement! | jemjem
17/1/2018 15:59 | Jemjem 16 Jan '18 - 21:42 - 14792 Are we involved in this? " ..............In the meantime we are actively pursuing ways of further increasing shareholder exposure to the prolific Sacramento Natural Gas Basin through workovers of existing wells and acquisitions of additional natural gas wells and infrastructure” -------------------- Jem, It is understood that as soon as they completed payment of their 30% contribution, EME had an interest in several producing assets at Rancho Capay and Los Medanos gas fields. In Oct on the way to the Dempsey site the PG completion rig No 3 undertook a successful re-completion of one of these adjacent JV-owned producing wells at the Rancho Capay Gas Field. These producing wells hold related leases without annual rentals for further appraisal and exploration. SGC has a 14 well portfolio in these fields,7 of which are in production. In addition EME has an optional 30% interest in the Dempsey trend AMI ( large Dempsey style look alikes ). 3 major prospects identified so far all under lease - EME´s contribution is 60% dry hole cost for Prospect 1 & 45% for prospects 2 & 3). The area extends to 250,000 acres. Frank will know the details!! | safiande
17/1/2018 15:39 | OT Bitcoin looking a bit fruity. | wcj
17/1/2018 15:22 | Actually I suspect that they do not expect to produce a vast amount of gas from the fracc. The well is right at the edge of the resource that they are investigating, and located primarily for the upper levels. Even with a fracc they are probably not going to get a gusher. But what they will get is knowledge of the stratum, plus information as to how it reacts to fraccing. As such it may be an exercise in pursuit of a much bigger fish in subsequent wells. Slowly, slowly, catchee gusher. | wcj
17/1/2018 15:00 | You’ve spoilt it now wcj. I thought I had the answer, then you threw in another option. Buffy | buffythebuffoon
17/1/2018 14:58 | I suspect that it involved some red tape as well as PTFE. | wcj
17/1/2018 14:57 | Indeed wcj - sometimes it takes time to get the full picture, people have to live with that. The main point, that it would be nice if Malcy could tear himself away from the all you can eat buffet to communicate, is that we have not had any information yet on the target zones so there is no reason to make any judgements on the success of the project at this stage; except, of course, to mention that the deepest zones are flowing clean, dry, gas when they were not expected to contribute a significant value to the asset.Nothing that other people are inferring, or trying to spin, about the overall prospects for this well are substantiated or relevant at this stage. The only thing we do know is that a project that was previously predicted to be a great success is delivering more at this stage than anticipated and this is why people should be thinking there is more reason to buy now than there was before the flow testing commenced. All imo. | terry hardacre
17/1/2018 14:51 | D They knew that the pipe connection would be needed in due course, and that the effort and expense in connecting it would not be wasted. | wcj
17/1/2018 14:45 | "Malcy is not impressed with the turn around from a great discovery to a trickle of gas. Why didn't they test some decent part of the well first, if there is one?" ? A Sacgasco are stupid B Sacgasco have money to burn and enjoy wasting it C The value of investigating the lower levels is greater than getting an immediate return from the higher levels. | wcj
17/1/2018 14:38 | they, maybe like me, have absolutely no idea what is going onThis should be emblazoned on Malcy's coat of arms. | terry hardacre
17/1/2018 14:38 | Dempsey is a small fish in the EME pond, people talking like this is it, waste of time, it's a dud, con blah blah blah, the learning from this well will become invaluable when drilling And commercialising Alvares well, mistakes would of been made, lessons learnt and the guys will be better prepared for the bigger more lucrative Alvares when the time comes. If they get Dempsey flowing at commercial levels, which in my opinion they will do, certainly at higher levels and hopefully once's frac at lower even then what a turnaround from a well that has never flowed from these low levels, GJ is no mug and understands the technicalities in optimising this well he wouldn't bother wasting time otherwise! Regardless of all this China is the jewel in the crown, everyone seems to be forgetting this and focusing on Dempsey, this is minor compared to China! GLA | richiiiee
17/1/2018 14:36 | Malcay, the sage who overlooked this at 1.8p and now feels the needs to comment. | oilforex |
