The industrial and electronic components distributer has been going since 1937 but Schroders has taken an interest because of the group’s potential to take market share due to its size and strength online.

The industry is currently dominated by small mom ‘n’ pop operations unable to offer a decent product range to its customers - mostly engineers - online. The group also has own-label product ranges with high profit margins, Schroders says. Over the past year, its shares have risen 10%.

The Vote Leave lies exposed in the results.

There is now a hard border between the UK and the EU and this has led to more transactional friction when moving goods across this border. As expected, the business is experiencing more customs administration, tax, duty and brokerage fees when moving products across this border. Further, the customs clearance processes continue to evolve in some areas, for example between Northern Ireland and Great Britain. For this reason, we continue to track and monitor the effects of Brexit on the operational activities of the business as a principal risk.

A mixed update but probably a good sign that it hasn't prompted a sell-off today. The progressive divi is always welcome.
