Analysts at Numis believe Electrocomponents is a long-term winner which can grow faster than the market post-lockdown and with the benefit of cost-cutting coming through have raised their 2021 and 2022 earnings forecasts following today’s update.

shareholders at the Annual General Meeting, it will be paid as an

Analysts at Berenberg raised their target price on precision instrumentation supplier Spectris from 2,240.0p to 2,425.0p on Tuesday, citing the group's strong balance sheet.

Berenberg also highlighted that it continued to prefer creating a similar "Spectris portfolio" through Bodycote, Electrocomponents and Oxford Instruments - all of which it had issued with 'buy' ratings.

15 months ago I was advised not to touch this with a bargepole, but since then my holding has nearly doubled. I am now wondering whether to leave something on the table for the next man, or to hold on for the Christmas boom.

RSA Insurance Group PLC (LON:RSA) has begun the search for a new chairman, according to a report.

Martin Scicluna, who has overseen the insurer’s board since 2012, will step down next year, Sky News suggested.

Scicluna, who holds the same role at J Sainsbury PLC, could be replaced by former trade minister Baroness Fairhead, who is chair of Electrocomponents PLC, among others, the report said.

An announcement is understood to be unlikely until next year.
