It's obvious to them that are not in denial.. Southgate chose the 19 year old and the other two who missed penalties because they are black, and the whole point of taking the knee and having 'diverity' in the England team is simply to rub the noses into acceptance of mass immigration, and more 'diverity'.. You see it now constantly in tv adverts etc..

Southgate was totally out of his depth, naïve is to simple a word, clueless and NO LEADER, for sure.

Where were the older players taking responsibility? 3 kids with EGO`s was not the answer. Abject surrender, rather like, taking knee.

The reality is that we just didnt turn up. Whether it was the pressure, tiredness, Italy being too good, or whatever, we just didnt play anywhere close to the level we saw in recent games.

Kane barely got a touch, Sterling was largely anonymous, and our defence had to work as hard as any recent game they've played. Unlike previous games, we had very little possession and didnt look comfortable at any point.

Overall, it was a good tournament for England, and will give useful experience to all of them.

Roll on the world cup.

ps I hope we stop singing its coming home now. Perhaps Baddiel and Skinner can write a new song?

with 20/20, resting kane is an obvious choice, not letting a 19 year old who struggled to get into the game take a penality also a good idea. don't think saka played any dead balls all tournament either. why?

Ok anyone except mount but if you can't pass the ball you need someone who can hold the ball allowing time for players to come and support. And what kind of manager let's a 19 year old take the fonal penalty of a shootout in a final? Absurd decision. Southgate has done well but that defeat was down to him.

An aging defence forced to play higher up the pitch due to being a goal down. You then have pace merchants like Rashford on the bench. Southgate is not a winner. Winners take the victory. They don't hope thay it comes to them

I dont get all the love for Grealish. He hasnt done anything worthy of a starting place imo. But yes, it was an awful tactical balls up by Southgate. When you have the pace and skill of our forwards, you should use them against an aging defence, especially early on so that some of them get early yellow cards.
