LOL!

I'm an optimist, and can see us caning Panama 1-0, drawing with Tunisia and beating Belgium's 2nd string when we play them, with them already qualified as group winners.

I atill think we have a very good chance of surprising positivky in Russia next summer.

Look at the first seeds. None of them should hold any fear for us. Brazil are a 3 man team, Argentina barely qualified and have 1 great player, Germany havnt trained on and struggle to score, France always flatter to deceive, Poland are Poland, Russia are at home, but not much good,Portugal are a one man team, and Belgium flatter to deceive.

In our group 2, who we all avoid in the 1st round, Spain are always tasty, Uruguay are no mugs and the rest are all beatable as are the rest of them.

We have won the U17 and U19 world cups, and the seniors will want to prove a point. Hopefully 2 or 3 of the kids will be included, as they deserve to be, but our full strength team, at our best, are a match for anyone.

I predict being knocked out in the semis on a penalty shoot out to someone.

Good practice for the U21s, getting to the semis and then losing on penalties to the Germans!

The kids did well this summer. Lets hope they train on.

France have good players too! England were lucky to only concede 3.

Southgate is tactically inept. 10 men should never look better than 11 if you have a decent coach. You will not see the best of any England players whilst this muppet remains in charge. He talks a good game but he is useless! Remind me why he was given the job? Oh yes there are no decent English Managers available. Sad situation. Deschamps on the other hand is a top class coach.

Bring on those under 20's World Cup winners, would runs rings around the first team.

The difference is they want to play exciting football and definitely want to wear the shirt

Yes, right rubbish! Gonna be even worse in the coming years..more and more foriegn players coming into the big clubs(except Spurs!)for the new season. Too many just average players in the England team..including the Spurs players! Too many average players playing averagely, average manager, average coaching, average F.A.Disaster looming in Russia world cup!

It was a really good game, and we did very well, as did Venezuela, not a country often associated with WC finals!

Why is Hart still first choice in goal? They were both great free kicks but I knew they were going to hit the back of the net as soon as Griffiths struck the ball because I have no confidence in Hart coping with those pressure situations.

And why is Jake Livermore starting? He is not international class. Why is he starting ahead of Oxlade-Chamberlain?

Nor is Eric Dier. Another great big lump of very average ability.

And why does Dele Alli never turn it on for England as he does for Spurs?

The articulate but useless Southgate needs to keep a wary eye on Slovakia because if England don't finish top of the group they will not be going to Russia. Our group of players wil not have the mental strength to overcome any of the teams that could finish second in their groups in a two leg pressure situation.

Poor performance, but I guess not a bad result in the context of the group.

Lallana should have scored with that free header, which would have avoided that nervous final few mins.

What I find quite incredible is that I've seen a number of articles about various players and just very recently about the new blue away strip, which all assume that we've already qualified for the 2018 World Cup.

We are nowhere near certainties to qualify. Slovakia, especially, have a reasonable chance of finishing top and would anyone really fancy our chances against any other side in a two-leg play off between the second placed countries? Especially with the highly uninspirational Southgate trying to motivate the team.

Lithuania at Wembley on Sunday is just the type of game that we've messed up countless times in the past.
