'Football' and 'intelligence' are not words you tend to use together.

southgate another FA "YES" man, just like Roy..

the chumps in charge of FA should fall on their swords, one suspects they did due diligence on Sam, not good enough though, having anything to do with the England national side seems to invoke a curse...

Wenger is from the Alsace region, which has been backwards and forwards between French and German control for centuries. He has a German surname. In my book that makes him a Jerry.

I don't see the problem in having a German manager for England. We English that have no Celtic links have far more in common with the Germans in blood links and DNA than we have with the Welsh, Scots and Irish. After all, we are chiefly descended from the Angles and Saxons who originated from areas which are in present day Germany.

Klinsmann will be a great choice. Good riddance to Allardyce. How was a chump that allowed himself to be set up so easily going to pit his tactical nous (LOL) against the great international coaches?

The FA are useless clowns. I see that the pathetically weak Gareth Southgate has been put in charge. Here we go again.

I cant believe we've sacked a man with a 100% win record!

Right decision imo.

It goes against 100+ years of history to have a German running the English football team.

The reality for England, the footballing team, is that for almost all the players, playing for their club is their priority.

I blame Prince Albert.

But are England's current crop of players of Championship standard? I think not.

Hoddle is by far the best English option if the FA are insistent on sticking with a native coach. My choice is Klinsmann. Proven pedigree as successful international player and coach. What he's achieved with a group of Championship-type players in the USA team is remarkable. He knows the English game, speaks excellent English and actually wants the job.

the best man in my view remains Hoddle should big Sam go .

true but the press have got their claws into it and are unlikely to let go until there is a public execution of sorts

I think he was trying to deflect attention away from the fact he'd told the media that Rooney would never play in midfield for England, which is exactly where he played.

Snowy, I like big Sam, but agree, he came across as a bit of a numpty in the after match interview. Let's put it down to excitement after the win!
