11/10/2016 22:06 | Well, the two toughest games, away to Slovakia and Slovenia are out of the way. So no reason why England won't top the group. An easy 12 points from the 4 games against the Group minnows, Scotland and Malta, should ensue. Main threat to England getting to Russia is being at war with them in 2018. | thailand
11/10/2016 22:06 | Will we beat Scotland? | 113mike

11/10/2016 20:34 | Some Dier passing tonight and the rest of it was little better. | leedskier
11/10/2016 15:37 | Cantona was a great player. Beckham wasn't, I'm afraid. Have never understood the hero-worshipping of this semi-literate, over-rated person. He was a very good footballer, nothing more. Often felt that he was the Rooney of his day and that England looked more balanced when he wasn't playing. He and his ridiculous wife have spent the years since his playing career ended desperately trying to stay in the public eye and haven't been averse to using their children at times to aid them in this attempt. A truly pathetic couple, in my opinion. | chopper harris1
11/10/2016 14:04 | I think Beckham was dropped by the bloke with the brolly, then brought back when it was too late. Then dropped again by the Italian bloke. Sorry but I forget the names of all these failed England managers. | e j blythe
11/10/2016 14:00 | Er, dodge he's on a million a month. He's got a few bob! | e j blythe
11/10/2016 13:53 | Great players do not wait to be dropped.Cantona,Smic | sr2day
11/10/2016 11:31 | Got to feel for Rooney. It's all coming to an end rather quickly. Now a squad player for both Man U and England who don't know what to do with him. Yet he is still club and country captain. I have admired his attitude throughout. He was even enthusiastically cheering on his team mates as they went 4-0 up in the first half against Leicester, thus rendering the decision to drop him all the more poignant. Great pro! | e j blythe
11/10/2016 09:57 | You're not implying that Rooney was once an athlete are you JJ? | thailand
11/10/2016 09:34 | Its ironic he has been dropped on world obesity day. | jack jebb
11/10/2016 09:29 | Looks like Rooney's glorious England career has come to an end. Credit to Southgate for making the decision. The twitterati, especially many ex footballers, are out in droves defending him, but the reality is that as an athlete, once you've lost it, you've lost it, and there's no coming back. A victory tonight will seal the deal for Rooney imo. | jack jebb
09/10/2016 18:52 | England team is not very average they are total shi^e | juju44
