09/11/2020 17:09 | Pleased to have added today. | hastings
09/11/2020 16:59 | What a day girls (and boys). Last week covered my long at the top only to reverse this morning shorting the very top. Lesson from it all: markets do not move on funnymentals but crowd's "perception" of funnymentals. The latter can be captured by keeping a very close eye on longer term probability distribution of price changes. A few rookies were laughing at the suggestion (some of them as recently as this morning). Amusing they have all done a Lord Lucan now. Enjoy the evening - am sure the FanClub is looking forward to The Casino re-open its doors tomorrow ... maybe not! | tongosti
09/11/2020 15:18 | No worries wan. Scary how fast this new strain is spreading. Just did a bit more digging and its inSweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Israel and the USI only heard about it a couple of days ago!https://www.msn. | lastoneout
09/11/2020 15:12 | No guarantees at this stage but if we go below 59, then 54 and 45 will be the next likely targets. If not, then I will cash in the remainder at around 70 level and hear the register ring again (for a change). Jesse Livermore put it best: the stock market is Providence’s way to humble as many people as possible. | tongosti
09/11/2020 14:51 | Apologies LastOneOut, I was typing and had not seen your reference to Mink too. | wan
09/11/2020 14:50 | Thanks James. The new PrimeStore ATM product was invented to improve and enhance rapid antigen tests for respiratory pathogens, so neither this, nor PrimeStore MTM is limited to only Covid-19 testing. Perhaps as exemplified by the recent significant investment by Thermo Fisher in both the US and the UK, not to mention EKF's own expansion in this regard, which were not likely to have been made based on a vaccine never being available. If coronavirus turns out like flu and mutates regularly, or mutates to the degree in the current cases involving Mink, then it starts to help one understand the rationale behind the likes of Thermos' investment. | wan
09/11/2020 14:27 | Vaccine has to be stored at minus 80 degrees as per sky news | piwood
09/11/2020 14:02 | Please do keep up the good work, wan. This board has generated a lot of useful information about EKF -and not just the Primestore MTM/ATM related business (which has wider and longer term application than COVID-19). The share price will doubtless continue to be volatile for a while and that is giving rise to trading opportunities. In the meantime, I am happy with the medium term business case for the various operations which EKF is developing. | james188
09/11/2020 13:36 | Maybe but between what Mr Market has to say and you my bank account knows which one to put the proverbial trust on. Keep up the good work old chap. | tongosti
09/11/2020 13:29 | Let me just repeat that.....The only quantitative antibody test in the market, which is backed up by diverse and very rich data! The vaccine still has to be approved, which although I am sure it will get the appropriate attention when approval is applied for, it still cannot be rushed and takes time, and combined with logistics and availability etc it will not happen overnight. Likewise, testing is not going to stop overnight either! | wan
09/11/2020 13:23 | Absolutely welcome any positive news on a vaccine and can't quite square the panic in relation to EKF. Testing will go hand in hand with a vaccine for a considerable time in my view, as nobody will want to revisit this chapter once we begin to really move on.Anyway, also took the opportunity to add a few more. | hastings
09/11/2020 13:20 | Thanks pal - vaccine is indeed great news for us all and the very catalyst on the EKF's short side but the signs were all there to see as per my posts over the last few days (only the uninitiated would believe the price was not way overextended - unfortunately these boards are filled to the brim with out and out gamblers [of course they do not call themselves that but rather wanna be Buffets / long termers or smth]) All it was needed was a catalyst. That's where the luck comes in but one needs to be prepared for it. The boat was clearly one-sided as everyone was singing to the same tune. Cheers. | tongosti
09/11/2020 13:16 | Yup, fair play Tongosti. Vaccine has certainly helped you there! Good news for the wider economy. Not good for the share price certainly short term. Early days for the vaccine lots more hurdles to come. Having a share like this obviously helps when the rest of the world is going down the pan. On a day like today it’ll get a bit of a beating. C’est la vie! | diviincomesearch
09/11/2020 13:13 | Smart - catching a falling knife aren’t you. Hmmm... PS. Received so much hostility last week bailing out at the very top for +23% profit and warning of impending disaster due to sky high market expectations on the company. Today have added (all cash in bank mind you) another +20% on the way down. What’s better is that I have still have a third of my original short position on now being a free roll. +43% (at trade level - portfolio level contribution at +11%) cash in bank in just a few days is not to be sniffed at chaps. And more likely than not there is still more to come! | tongosti
09/11/2020 13:09 | Don't be mugged-off folks. Just topped-up. Thanks tongosti.. | sgettings
09/11/2020 13:07 | If the vaccine comes to fruition in terms of safety and efficacy, then that can only be a good thing! It could also possibly bring forward EKF's launch of the Kantaro antibody test, especially as there are also questions about how long immunity lasts, and the Kantaro test is currently the only quantitative antibody test available in the market, so it is likely to receive significant demand. Unfortunately, availability and logistics will mean the vaccine will almost certainly be given to the vulnerable and front line staff initially, so testing of the general population will still be required for quite some time in my view. Longer term, molecular transport media will be required for continued testing, including differentiating flu from coronavirus, possible mutations (hopefully not!) and country preparedness for future pandemics. | wan
09/11/2020 12:55 | So the price was overextended wasn't it.LOL | tongosti
09/11/2020 12:44 | Wen - any fresh fundamental perspective to share? | tongosti
09/11/2020 12:28 | I have no idea what games are afoot today but I suspect it is people operating on a different timeframe to me. Anyway, I managed to nab some more at 59p which I think will turn out to be good value over my holding period. | crazycoops
09/11/2020 12:25 | Cashed in another batch +17% about a third in open play for some more. Thank you Mr Market. | tongosti
09/11/2020 12:17 | Firsha - any pearls of wisdom from Warren Buffett? | tongosti
09/11/2020 12:15 | To my dear avg Joe:POETIC JUSTICE | tongosti
09/11/2020 12:10 | Yeah, but how many people take it? Here, in the US, it is estimated that 50% of the public intends to take the vaccine. Also, full distribution will take at least 2 quarters. Then there is the likelihood of seasonal strains like flu and the question of durable immunity of past exposure. COVID testing will be safely be in place for 2021 and perhaps well beyond | jsredbird
09/11/2020 12:10 | Between that and Mr Market's judgement I know which one to pick. Cashed in +3% leaving the rest in open play - it's def on the house now. Ah those rookies who filtered me - how they wish they paid attention... | tongosti |
