03/9/2004 17:53 | Just one curious point....If Energis Poska was, as I presume, sold off because it was not finacially viable at the time, then why are National Grid still the `owners` whereas Energis UK...they, as we have been led to believe, just walked away and yet in the Polish scenario, did not have the advantage of overhead cable supply as in UK Energis....and yet the UK Energis still uses the overhead cables...so implication by inference implies that some form of clandestine deal exists between National Grid/EnergisUK and Energis Polska......If National Grid managed to haG onto their Polska share, then surely this must imply the we also have a stake in Energis Polska. A question needs to be raised why National Grid hung onto their Energis Polska stake....and we didn`t?....this is begining to smell. | htrocka

30/8/2004 19:49 | jadacards - 29 Aug'04 - 22:14 - 22364 of 22365 sasi1 - it went broke but instead of selling up and returning cash to shareholders the banks took it on, which means it can now be a success without the need to share any of the cash it now earns, with the shareholders who gave it a start in life, understand? It's called British business ethics! That stinks! Have you thought of starting an action group? | the pink pound

29/8/2004 21:57 | jacknife Can you shed some light on this for us Wingers :- From that Link :- "Telecom operator Energis Polska, controlled by the British National Grid," ?????? Confused Winger ? | gerry2
29/8/2004 09:21 | National Grid, Energis` largest shareholder, is to return £1bn to it`s shareholders. Although the statement did not say what form this return would be, one would have thought that an investment into Energis, whom they have a 30%stake, would have been appropriate at this time......and still leave a mountain of cash left over for it`s shareholders. If I remember correctly, National Grid stated at the point of administration that `a future investment in Energis is not out of the question`......the future has arrived.P.S ...Global Crossing were one of the highest climbers of the week ....is that the same Global Crossing ie(alternative communications carrier)...that went to the wall at about the same time as Energis.....and are now back in the market place?....even the once troubled PCCW, the Hutchinson Whompa conglomorate, alternative carrier....is now reporting that it is about to pay a dividend on its shares. | htrocka
28/8/2004 21:36 | sasi1 I don't know where to begin ? But hear goes ! When you travel at the Speed of light . Einstein was correct in his hypostasis stating that Time itself actually slows down under these conditions . I know it may be hard for you to grasp this concept. But what has actually happened ? The few weeks Time you spent with the nice Alien visitors to this planet visiting there world . They should have told you that well over two years have elapsed back hear on Earth ? As for Energis ? you need to consult Jack the Knife on this Thread ? He appears to have all the Answers . I hope this helps . Welcome back. | gerry2

21/8/2004 21:07 | Stephen, I think I would know if I had been a party to any conspiracy of the sort hinted at my our fellow poster and the subject of an investigative report by Private Eye, and the answer to both is that I have not. Thank you for your kind regards, which are reciprocated. ADRIAN | ![]() adrian turner
21/8/2004 20:15 | Adrian Thank you most sincerely for your very helpful and informative post. However, unless you are Abrahamtoast (in your spare time) you'll never know what may have happened thus far. Should I hear anything interesting, I'll let you know. With very kind regards. Stephen P.S. Are there any other BB's that I should be looking at? P.P.S. Spend extra time at ESAG, it may help. | hubcaps
21/8/2004 08:13 | gerry2.....a quick explanation(without the Enigma machine)..Oil is heading for $50 a barrel, this can only mean that next years first quarter results of companies across the board (exept the possibility of oil companies) will reflect this burden through absorbtion ,hence lower growth, if any. Should $50 a barrel be maintained through to the second quarter...then as we all know, two negative quarters equals one recession. This will be followed by a `re-adjustment period of possibly another two quarters... I was trying to explain that I would adopt a `wait and see` policy before decideing to float Enrgis within the next two years. With banks clamping down on credit and interest rates increasing, spending, ie, money circulation, will drop off and the economy will grind down. If, on top of all this, we then return a labour government....that will be the last straw. If the price of oil exceeds and is maintained at levels greater than $50...then the only course open to HMG...is inflating the economy....however this is a double edged sword with a catch 22 twist...p.s....look at gold futures,,,a dramatic climb.PPS Advisers such as Goldmans have predicted that the present oil price hyke is a `spike` and will be back to $38 next year....we shall have to wait and see. | htrocka
20/8/2004 18:43 | Stephen, You won't have received a reply, or at least the reply you were hoping for, for this very simple reason. There was/is no conspiracy and no Private Eye expose. Very best regards, ADRIAN | ![]() adrian turner |
