Morning CR
Interestingly, this was my previous occupation ( running an English Lanaguage operation). So I'm well able to recognised the qualities of the company's market.
I'll be sticking these away for the results.

Yep, and how many realise this is an Interlectual Property co. I doubt many. But their IP can be used over and over again at little or no extra cost - which is why the gross margins are nearly 80%.

sranmal well spotted. I don't know how AiW does it? He ought to be called the 'scarlet pimpernal' - he attended three AGM's last week on the same day and then did a fantastic write up of them all in his own unimmitable style. I am in awe of his prolific output! Not only is he thorough & comprehensive but he has left no stone unturned on EDD - IMO a superb write up.

Matt you might want to edit your link to point to JT's first response on being message no 10248 My reply was message 10254 and his response was 10261.

The key bit that we could discuss being;
JTCod - 12 May'08 - 07:48 - 10261 of 10270
"If you look at the 5 year balance sheet, intangibles have risen every year rising to a 2007 level of £7.37m (after deflationary offsets throughout those 5 years.) If I assume these companies were bought on similar PE's to the company then £1m of the £2m profit could well have been contributed from acquisitions leaving £1m from the original core business. Approx. £0.4m of that will go later in the year leaving them with what looks like an 'organic contraction' or at least stagnation of business against 2003 which showed £0.7m. (I didn't say 2002 because that was a loss with big exceptional costs that incidently wipe out almost everything they have shown as profit in the last 5 years). I think this is the type of business that is unlikely to grow much without continual acquisitions. The management talk about organic growth but I think they are hiding the truth."

I thought JTC's concern related to the outstanding lease obligation/liability but looking at the figures he has quoted it seems to be the goodwill on acquisition that is giving him concern. I think that his assumptions about the business model are wrong but will reconsider the figures before replying.

A bit of stock cleared from those large trades - these got a great tip in SCSW last week, the main tip - the way they spoke the expectations here are very under rated and likely to surprise to the upside imo.

The last time the 20 SMA rose above the 50 SMA we got a 16% rise in the price back in Feb and it looks like the same is about to happen again plus we have got the H1 results due in June which are looking like they should be on target. 48p IMO fairly soon.

LTBH for me so don't mind it being ignored in the short term - value will out eventually. If you're trading it on a shorter timescale it must be a mite frustrating given the great fundamentals. Still, interims on 5 June and if the share price doesn't move up before, the results should give it a hefty kick up the backside!

Being severely ignored at the moment.

From the Trading statement:

"The early integration of the ASET business will bring additional benefits during the second half of this year and on into 2008/09. As result of this and the other positive factors reported here, we expect to exceed market expectations for the current year."

You have to be very confident or well ahead to be able to say that in H1.

Even more encouraging is the recent director buying:

Education Development International plc ('EDI' or the 'Company') announces that it has today been notified that Richard Price, Chairman and Non-Executive Director, today purchased 200,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company at 42.5 pence per Ordinary Share.

Following the above purchase, Mr Price has an interest in 700,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company, representing approximately 1.2% of the Total Voting Rights.

Gross margin of 79% at EDI too.
