03/8/2007 15:12 | Don't get emotional about your stocks, be objective. ----------------- "NOT all of us a day traders like you hattori, you muppet." ----------------- Oh dear! 1) Thanks for proving my point; another emotional amateur. 2) I'm not a day trader, I hold each share for as long as it's individual merits determine it's a good investment. (Hence the fact I sold EBT a few weeks ago because I felt it wasn't performing as it should if everything in the garden was rosy!) 3) Don't give up the day job! ps: Worth repeating: If you can't find a better investment than EBT, then you shouldn't be investing in individual stocks at all, imho. | hattori_hanzo
03/8/2007 15:02 | NOT all of us a day traders like you hattori, you muppet. i,ve invested with a 3-5 year plan. There is lots of new mobile handsets coming out end of 2007 so why should we panic because a plonker like hattori tells us to. | igoe104
03/8/2007 14:31 | Don't get emotional about your stocks, be objective. EBT may well come good one day, it certainly still has potential, but, given todays announcement, does EBT look like a good investment atm ?!.....obviously not! If you can't find a better investment than EBT, then you shouldn't be investing in individual stocks at all, imho. NB: If the market weakens further, the stocks with the weakest fundamentals will be the first to be crushed and the last to bounce back. | hattori_hanzo
03/8/2007 08:23 | divinsau1...Its their reason that new handset delay will cause a 10% drop in revenue forecast that just doesnt make sense. | siwel100
03/8/2007 08:09 | tyranosaurus - 3 Aug'07 - 08:39 - 148 of 149 It makes you wonder whether Audley know what they are doing. These may be cheap based on a long term view, but short term there is nothing on the horizon to support the share price. -------------------- Long term views support share prices thats how markets work. Yuo have to remember people do invest for long term as well. They have grown number of stores from 190 to 238 1st half 2007. I feel that is excellent progress. The market knew of a shortfall due to new model handsets unavailability already prior to this update. MMs will always mark it down on even a 2 year view i think at these levels they are a great buy. IMO | divinausa1
03/8/2007 07:45 | tyranosaurus...Today Allow for the possibility of further fundraising, allow for a pressure on rentals as economic growth pressures prime store unit rental rates.....but then allow for increased spend on non essentials as the chinese consumers increased their earnings and spending power and the growing discounts the company could achieve from suppliers. You could make a case to support the very high current valuation for a long term hold. But todays RNS casts a lot of doubt on all the assumptions. Hence the risk for a very severe multi day selloff. | siwel100
03/8/2007 07:39 | It makes you wonder whether Audley know what they are doing. These may be cheap based on a long term view, but short term there is nothing on the horizon to support the share price. | tyranosaurus
03/8/2007 07:30 | WHAT will be interesting will be audleys stance, will they continue buying every month ? if they were looking to take it out, there is a good opportunity to pick up more cheap stock. | igoe104
03/8/2007 07:19 | Guys - Let's not let this BB deteriorate as so many others have. Everyone has a point of view - diversity of opinion makes this investing business interesting. | silverthread
03/8/2007 07:12 | no you are the idiot.... at the end of the day it doesn't matter if your time line is 5 years... you could of bought at a much lower price and thus had probably 50% or more profits.... (if this thing does go right) so the idiot is.... you... Slap | slapdash
03/8/2007 07:07 | yes im long but 5 years long 1 year down so far. Very early days to be calling me an idiot. Easy to call you an idiot... dvinausa - you are missing the point.... they really can't sell it all.. as that would raise too many questions... so they sell what they can and what there is liquidity to absorb... LOL................ | divinausa1
03/8/2007 07:05 | divinausa1 - I assume that you are long and therefore have losses... so who is the idiot???? Slap | slapdash
03/8/2007 07:03 | LONDON (Thomson Financial) - EBT Mobile China PLC said chairman James Reiman sold 1.3 mln shares at 25.625 pence each, taking his stake in the company down to 27.13 pct. idiot slap | divinausa1
03/8/2007 07:01 | dvinausa - you are missing the point.... they really can't sell it all.. as that would raise too many questions... so they sell what they can and what there is liquidity to absorb... I can assure you that if they thought the stock price woudl double in the next year they wouldn't be so keen to sell.. Slap | slapdash
03/8/2007 07:00 | The chart was pointing down for months; and that's where it's going..... | philjeans
03/8/2007 06:59 | As usual management get rich through share sales while shareholders are left holding the bag.. -------------------- Check how many many they still hold! | divinausa1
03/8/2007 06:54 | A disappointing announcement. I'll cling to: "Compared to its competitors, EBT Mobile's business has performed well in what is the largest mobile phone market in the world." and a statement I read previously about there being alot of new models hotting up the Chinese market later in the year. So, maybe it's an overall market issue, and EBT, with its increased store footprint, will be able to benefit when the market turns. Maybe I'm clutching at straws ... but having held this for a long time, will give them the benefit of the doubt for the moment. Doubtless this will be marked down heavily today - profit warning & "forrin". | silverthread
03/8/2007 06:51 | As I said before - lots of insider selling.... lots of promotion of the stock (China's Carphone Warehouse)... can only mena one thing... pump and dump... And here it is the first profits warnings... ur I would say profits then they don't have any profits...... could reflect other things like more competition etc.... do we know the acual caused of this?? We ae all thousands of miles away from their business... who knows wwhat is really going on... As usual management get rich through share sales while shareholders are left holding the bag.. 03/8/2007 06:48 | Rogers would not buy EBT! | sheeneqa
03/8/2007 06:44 | divinausal1....Be very careful with this one. They are currently below breakeven and they appear to require a fairly substantial number of new outlets to reach even a 1m profit (which may mean fundraising). Even if they can ramp up to 1m profit, that would still mean a p/e 50 against an average p/e 12 for your average fast growth and profit making listed Chinese company. This one has the potential for a very heavy fall indeed. Not trading this one, only really looked at this one over the last few days. Not intending to give any advice but can see it down at 4p-6p if one of the tired Insti holdings is dumped. | siwel100
03/8/2007 06:42 | Buying China China is a market that Rogers isn't selling even as share prices fall, he said. He's sold his other emerging market holdings as stock gains outstripped the prospect for earnings, Rogers added. The CSI 300 Index last week jumped 8.4 percent. The index had gained 2.7 percent to a record as of 2 p.m. in Beijing, heading for its fourth weekly gain in a row. The benchmark has more than doubled this year and is the best performer among 89 stock indexes tracked by Bloomberg. ``China's the next great country in the world and we must learn about investing in China, because that's where fantastic fortunes are going to be made in the next century,'' Rogers said. ``I would be looking at China very carefully.'' 03/8/2007 06:40 | In addition, the current lack of new handset model releases by some major manufacturers into the Chinese market is impacting average unit prices and margins. As a result, management currently expects revenues to be circa 10% below market expectations for the year ended 31 December 2007 and that the Company will make a modest loss for the full year. -------------------- this was already known by the market. MMs will mark it down though again!(already dropped 20% on the back of it). I will be holding and will wait for a top up | divinausa1 |
