22/7/2007 10:24 | EBT are china,s biggest retailer in the worlds biggest mobile market, so i don,t understand why you say its not a good business. THEY have also link to the right partners, china mobile, tesco, so they must have an impressive business model for tesco, and china mobile, to be involved with. over the next few years there is thought to be over billion chinese mobile phone users. so not a good business mmmmmmmmmmmmm | igoe104
22/7/2007 09:59 | this looks like a hyped up pile of pants... insiders unloading shares like no tomorrow.... just setting up stalls to flog mobiles all over the place... ur great business.. not... Slapper | slapdash
22/7/2007 09:20 | these are pretty much at an all time low, so if H1 results prove positive, then I'll be topping up. Just browsing the financials again - fundamentals look very positive. 31st Dec 06 they had £500m turnover, £200m of current assets with only £50m of short term creds. So approx 75p of current assets for each share worth 25p..... I reckon they should stop trading today and just distribute this now, lol. The key is when they are going to start turning in a profit. £300m then £500m turnover last 2 years, but in deficit both years - suppose that links in with your comments on thier focus with margins increase. | anusol
21/7/2007 08:19 | i think EBT is just drifting out of lack of interest and no decent news, plus that slight wobble on holiday sales a couple of months ago. Seems to be a lot of potential for an short term increase if H1 figures are ok (which are due by now arent they? they came out on July 11th last year). Whilst the Chinese market has been rising in multiples, EBT has stagnated because its listed on AIM - there must be some gap to close there? And linked to the fact that Chinese consumer spending is going through the roof and the number of consumers is increasing, then mobile's are just such an obvious essential item. So the only real question is how are EBT taking / keeping market share compared to online sales, or other retail stores? Well guess we'll find out very soon. I would predict approx 40% yr on yr sales growth i.e. same rate as last year. But margins will be important as the market is maturing and these might be reduced. all IMHO | anusol
20/7/2007 18:55 | YEP that and the director selling also. i,m holding for 3-5 years anyway, and will add along the way. They don,t seem to answer my emails, I think its because chinese people are secret people. ps explorer88 I only kiss ladies. LOL | igoe104
20/7/2007 18:51 | Anyone think the recent fall is due to lack of trading statement? anybosy been in touch with the company to enquire? | divinausa1
20/7/2007 18:49 | ID - like to add both to ebt, and sft, both seem fantastic companies. i,ve also got into ccgp today, i wanted to have a growing healthcare company on my books, this seems a cracking company also. I like sft, especially as they are doing alot of work for the chinese government, which makes it less risky. | igoe104
20/7/2007 17:57 | igoe - if ebt falls another 1p or so i may be tempted to add to my investment last week. off topic : sft : next week i want to check the info. i got from Jiangsu today and try and find out more details - i have one channel i can try (who visited sft with ambassador in Feb.) - do you have any relevant contacts in China who could check/verify info? | explorer88
16/7/2007 08:56 | morning mark perhaps some people are concerned about: 1. director sales 2. weak labour day sales 3. dearth of attractive new hand sets this year It seems that EBT has a lot of potential, next couple of years will show whether they can deliver. Directors will only receive their share options for March next year if share price reaches 35p (one director is 30p) | explorer88
16/7/2007 08:13 | I wonder whats going on with this stock. It sounds like it could be a big success story, but its not been a very exciting tale this year so far. Bit of a spike earlier on in 07 but slowly drifted back down to 26p. If its such a good prospect why are we not seeing some of the expected good news being priced into this company today. I am too waiting for the likley imminent update. I also thought that the tie up with Tesco may have been greeted with a little more interest. If the updatre is not very good good news I will begin to think its all hype? I can see even stand still performance sending this stock backwards again. It would be nice ot see 30 p nebver mind 40p?? | mark_jm
15/7/2007 12:55 | ME too, im a fan of software companies. i also hold igp, who do id/smart cards projects,. because of worldwide security problems, your going to see a big growth in id/smart cards all over the world. they have already won contracts with the usa government for port security cards, government workers.uk health cards. i also expect an involvement in the usa emergency workers, which will involve 40 million amercians, uk national id card, and the big one usa driving licences, which will involve 240 million amercians.and an involvement in on-line security. lots of growth for a 14 million cap company. | igoe104
15/7/2007 08:01 | Morning Igoe Thanks for suggesting sft - it is a company i've been researching as it is in my prefered sector (software). May invest in the business after the summer | explorer88
14/7/2007 11:41 | I hold these, i also hold jmc, which is a chinese fund, which makes investments in chinese companies. I also have sft, which is a tax software rebate company, which has over 26,000 companies using its software in 2 provinces. But what is interesting is because of new chinese tax laws, they will be able to sell there software to all 31 of china provinces, which will be starting soon, that is a massive jump of growth, from 2-31. I,ll be looking to add to ebt, jmc, sft, as funds come available. | igoe104
14/7/2007 08:16 | Recent investor in EBT and LED. Have decided not to invest in JHL, TAIH, GNG and RCG at the moment for various reasons (valuation, management, product, competition etc.) Any other Chinese companies on peoples radar screens worth evaluating? | explorer88
13/7/2007 15:43 | I see the Chairman, James Reiman, sold 1,300,000 the other day (£333,125). He still holds some 60 million shares, so nothing to worry about. Probably some small change to buy his wife a birthday present! I guess he might have sold to increase the liquidity to allow Audley to increase its stake? | silverthread
12/7/2007 19:54 | Been drifting down now for the past 3 months ! | masurenguy
12/7/2007 12:54 | cordwainer - that's right, H1 update may be out soon. I've made initial purchase of 11,000 at 25.95 Panmure share price target of 40p is reasonable given the projected increase in turnover we're likely to see this FY | explorer88
11/7/2007 22:06 | There was an update this time last year ... | cordwainer
03/7/2007 16:34 | Re today's RNS, Audley is consistently building its stake. Increased by 5 million shares (2% of issued share cap) in last 2 months. Good to have such an insti picking up any sellers, and the reason for the share price stability recently. | silverthread
03/7/2007 08:20 | Interesting bit on the chinese mobile market. | igoe104
28/6/2007 15:53 | I'm encouraged to at least keep holding by this tesco deal. Those hypermarkets aim to be one-stop shop for almost everything and to compete with high streets, so makes a lot of sense to have a foothold there. | cordwainer |
