Where I live, any body who passes away must be tested for the coronavirus and has been found that 74% of all coronavirus deaths are occurring in nursing homes.

Also more woman have been found to have the coronavrius then men and more in the 18 to 34 age group have been found to have the virus then any other age group.

headline grabbing quotes.

loganair, you may be confusing personal preference with what makes a good investment.

I've never booked a RYA flight, but I've held the shares.

Plenty of consumer choice available for those who want a different option.

They need to develop better quality air filters in the aircraft and put more clean air into the cabin. Oh and all travellers need to be thermally scanned when they arrive at the airport.

It'll be excellent news if O'Leary throws his toys out and stays grounded whilst Easyjet take to the skies with far less competition :-)

Last time I flew KLM, their check desk was next to the Ryanair check in desk.

3 Ryanair passengers, baggage paid for 60Kg, actual total baggage weight 54Kg. However one of their bags came to 22Kg. The check in staff said either they had to pay 2Kg excess baggage for this bag or they had to step a side and spend 10 minutes going through their bags to make sure all 3 were no more then 20Kg.

I was able to walk straight up to the KLM check in, 3Kg over weight. The KLM lady said no problem and just put my bag through with out having to pay for any excess baggage. Exactly the same has happened when my wife was flying on Swissair.

Once I was flying KLM with my sons Christmas presents that weighed 11Kg. As soon as the KLM check lady knew that this particular bag contained my sons Christmas presents she didn't included it with my baggage allowance and allowed the bag to go through as an extra and above the usual baggage allowance. Can one image either Ryanair or Easyjet doing this???

On the likes of KLM, Swissair, Lufthansa or TAP a 12 to 15 year old is able to fly on their own as a 'Young Adult' whereas on the likes of Easyjet or Ryanair a passenger has to be at least 16 until they are allowed to fly on their own. To me this shows the capabilities of the average 12 year old KLM passenger are higher then compared to the average Easyjet passenger.

Middle seat left empty makes 0 sense. It's a small confined area with recirculation
of air, in which passengers are seated for an 1hr plus on most flights.
It's not like the air you exhale stays just above your seat!.

Flights may be grounded for longer than consensus anticipates?.

Middle Seat being left empty - what happens if a family of 3 all living in the same household want to book a flight - will make sense if all three sit together and utilize the middle seat instead of one of them being made to sit in another row with a person from a different household.

I am not a fan of any Screaming Kids Airline nor BA, British Caledonian was far superior to BA. Nor am I a fan of Cathay Pacific as the cabin crew treat their passengers the same way BA cabin crew do as though they are 'Storm Troopers.'

Another problem with Easyjet usually they do not have their own employed handling agents at airports.

I use to like SAS until they went down hill in 2010 and Aer Lingus and Iberia were also a joy to fly on until BA got their hands on them.

My favourite airlines in order - KLM, Swissair, TAP Air Portugual, Air Malawi, Royal Tongan Airlines, Lufthansa, Loganair, Norwegian, Air Brussels all of who treat their passenger with decency and like they are human beings. The best low cost airline by far being Norwegian.

From the Bottom going up - Ryanair, SAS, British Airways, Flybe, Aer Lingus, Wizz Air, Easyjet, Cathay Pacific.

The airline will not return to flying if middle seats must be kept vacant says Ryanair CEO.

Ryanair planes won’t return to the skies if the airline is forced to leave the middle seat empty, Michael O’Leary, has said.

O’Leary said that Ryanair had already told the Irish government that if it imposes the restriction, then “either the government pays for the middle seat or we won’t fly”.

Ryanair must indicate the full price of the ticket when it displays offers on its website, the EU’s top court said today.

The judges in Luxembourg said Ryanair had to show in its initial offer unavoidable and foreseeable taxes, surcharges and fees. Optional price supplements could be left until the start of the booking process, they said.

They found that fees for using a credit card were unavoidable and should be shown in the initial offer.

Check-in fees also needed to be shown unless there was at least one option to check in free of charge.

Ryanair representatives were not immediately available for comment on the ruling.

bc4 - Just wait until there are any problems, delays or lost baggage and you'll very quickly see the difference between Easyjet and the likes of Swissair or KLM. If for example their is only 1 airway slot going Swissair or the likes of KLM will be given it over the low cost airlines.

You say you pay on average £50, does this include baggage, food and drinks as it does the price of my ticket does on Swissair or KLM?

When I fly KLM via Amsterdam or Swissair via Zurich I'm also given a meal and 2 drinks service on both the sectors. Also if sitting in the first couple of rows of economy, the champagne is brought through from the business class to finish up.

Then often the kids are screaming their heads off on low cost airlines whereas they are often very quiet and well behaved on the likes of Swissair and KLM.

As for the experience, so much better on KLM, Swissair, TAP and Lufthansa compared with the low cost airlines.

The last few times I flew on domestic flights with Easyjet I was shocked that I could barely understand the English being spoken by some of the cabin crew whereas the KLM cabin crew speak excellent English.

When Flybe went bust, on a short domestic flight from my local UK airport Easyjet immediately put the price of their tickets up from £59.49 to between £289.20 to £329.10 one way per adult.

The most I've ever paid for flight tickets to Spain has been on Easyjet, followed by Flybe while consistently Swissair, KLM, Lufthansa and TAP have been cheaper.

I was lucky once to pick up a £25 one-way Alicante-Gatwick ticket on Norwegian...Norwegian I consider to be the best of all the so called Low Cost Airlines.

Virgin Atlantic Owes Delta $200 Million, Won’t Receive Cash From U.S. Shareholder.

Delta will not be providing Virgin Atlantic any financial assistance. It is Delta expecting cash: Virgin has to pay Delta $200 million related to their joint-venture, the airlines agreed earlier this year.

The $200m Virgin Atlantic owes Delta stems from them combining their joint-venture into the larger Delta-Air France-KLM JV, which resulted in a change of performance.

“Certain measurement thresholds were reset from the previous joint venture with Virgin Atlantic, reducing the value Delta would have received over the original term,” Delta said. “To compensate Delta for this reduced value, we entered into a transition agreement with Virgin Atlantic.”

Delta did not specify when the $200m would be due, but it was listed as an outstanding invoice as of March 31.

You're joking, of course. Budget airlines' prices for popular periods such as Easter and most of the summer. In normal times, unless you book months in advance, are not my idea of budget prices.

Low Cost airlines or SKAs (Screaming Kids Airlines) as I call them are often not as low cost as they may appear.

A few years back I flew to Spain on Swissair via Zurich and was chatting to passengers who had just flown into the same destination on Easyjet.

After they had paid for all the extras, baggage, food and drinks on board, while my tickets included all the extras, these Easyjet passengers had actually paid more for their flight then I had.

Flying on Swissair, KLM, Lufthansa and TAP Air Portugal, very comfortable and pleasant experience and usually the kids on board are very well behaved and quiet. Also if something goes wrong or there are flight delays these airlines really look after their passengers whereas in similar situations the Low Cost airlines couldn't really give a damn about their passengers.

Low Cost airlines make no money from the basic cost of the ticket, they make all their money from the extras they sell. I went on a Easyjet flight with an airbourne time of just 35 mins, the couple sitting next to me spend £44 on buying food and a good amount of very expensive alcohol to consume on the short flight.

I knew that the flying industry had had it when 15 years ago I saw painted on the side of an aircraft "Now Everyone can Fly". Sadly as soon as something becomes Everyone, means going down to the lowest common denominator.

I wouldn't be caught dead flying on Ryanair and as for Easyjet only when I have no alternative. Up until 2010 SAS use to be good, likewise Iberia until they were taken over by BA sadly both these airlines have gone to the dogs while BA (Nigel Airlines) have never got themselves out of the dog kennel as they tend to treat their passengers as though they are always first time flyers and BA cabin crew are often very dictatorial towards their passengers as BA have always acted as though their is only the one way of doing anything and that is the BA way.

The problem with raising prices is some will not be able to afford it especially after the lockdown eases, they are/were called LOW COST airlines that is how you get 90% load factors

Then they should raise their prices 50% to cover it, explaining why. Doh!

Or perhaps they'd rather sit on the tarmac and go bust.
