EZJ make good money when flights are cheap and full
When things resume flights will be neither cheap nor full

Coronavirus: EasyJet could keep middle seats empty when flying resumes

The airline's boss sees pent-up demand for travel when the lockdown ends though does not expect planes to be full immediately.

Good news. Air travel is vital to the economy so I expect the gov will be all over it when lockdown relaxes (much like schools returning..) 9 months is more than enough time.

The buck stops at the top, and the top is BJ, or maybe his mate Dom.

After all this is over how many people will be saying I don’t think I want to live in London anymore. Then an exodus to the more semi rural areas. Maybe some companies will feel the same.

Rubbish you daft old git. Numbers are being plucked out of thin air. Any death be it flu, pneumonia or heart attacks are all being put down to the Coronavirus.

The biggest crime was not sorting the trains and underground out at a much earlier date. The finger of blame there has to be at the Mayor.

I'd hate to be a smoker over the age of 60 living in and around London that's for sure!

Uk a third smaller population than germany (which has/had open borders with the likes of italy) yet has more than 4x the deaths, the uk as usual a basket case dealing with anything ( nhs not that great either im afraid) and I would think flight ban from uk will be among last to be lifted. Hopeless (brexit morons) uk gov should have acted two weeks sooner, would have been a different story.

EJ - more choppers flying around the UK than commercial aircraft.

Which country is going to be crazy enough to let flights come in from the UK?

If and when the airlines start to open for business the huge costs that will be incurred that are immense compared to the likely income, so they will haemorrhage funds at an alarming rate, putting the whole structure at immediate risk of collapse.

Flying planes with empty middle seats just will not pay unless they hike the seat prices, then there will be few customers.

A lot of these rises will be sold into, unfortunately it could be well over 3/4 months before leisure flights resume again I have flights booked with EasyJet in AUG Sept and OCT but I am not that optimistic

To be fair Phil now probably is the time to be buying but that price could best be described as optimistic.

I'll settle for a tenner for starters for the shares now back in my SIPP ;-)

There's no rush as I won't be retiring in the near future thanks to the Chinese.

That's now a minimum of 28.5 millions shares that will be required to be purchased at some point in the future.

Once the first makes a significant move to close they will be crawling all over each other to try and buy shares under a tenner IMHO

EasyJet said that given the level of continued uncertainty, it was not possible to provide financial guidance for the remainder of the full 2020 financial year.

"However, we continue to take every step necessary to reduce cost, conserve cash burn, enhance liquidity, protect the business and ensure it is best positioned for a return to flying," it said.

With its various funding initiatives, it expects to have generated total additional liquidity of around 1.85-1.95 billion pounds ($2.31-$2.43 billion), leading to a notional cash balance of about 3.3 billion pounds.
