You make the assumption that this will be all over in a few weeks.

Any country self sufficient in food and water can, and will close their borders.

As predicted we will see ten profit warnings in a row

Today we got number 3

1 NHS - 05 Mar 2020 - 15:42:40 - 10191 of 11491 Easyjet 2014 and beyond - EZJ
As I have said previously here, look for around ten profit warnings, which after the 2nd , ( due any day ), will not in the true sense, be a profit warning.

The 3 rd trading update will give an idea of this years loss

The 4th onwards will be so ugly the stock will be trading to the 2P 40p range

Please see my previous posts.

The chance of a world no fly zone has jumped to 80/20 within 2 weeks.

What is the point of Virgin Atlantic, it seems to muddle by at best, Singapore Airlines owns a large stake so they can bail it out. As for Branson, he has plenty of money that he can put in, or so he says!

Here we go, ( as predicted ),

EASYJET STATEMENT - FLEET GROUNDING

As a result of the unprecedented travel restrictions imposed by governments in response to the coronavirus pandemic and the implementation of national lockdowns across many European countries, easyJet has, today, fully grounded its entire fleet of aircraft.

My guess is, as and when "normal" UK life is resumed, int'l flights/crossings will be a later date.
Given that flights/travel is at a cross roads for CV and green issues, rather than trying to restore the status quo, I think it would right, for both green and monetary reasons to use this point to invest in a green future.

Why put megamoney into rescuing the old infrastructure, that is due for change anyway?

The world economy seems to be on the same page for injecting money in to get over CV.
The planet has never before needed change so much, and so critically.

Putting the two togther we can kill 2 birds with one stone.
Change to social habits for green purposes can be more readily accepted at a time when folks see the reality and fragility of that normal life.

That goes at gov level too across the world.
We currently have gov's speaking with each other for common good, rather than commercial/political advantage, so I thnink we should use this period of change for gov's to have common green targets and spending.

Let these trillions be to fight for a green future not merely to eradicate a bad disease.
Be pro-active rather than re-active!
It's a double whammy, win win. :-)

IMO.

Collapsed airline Flybe’s administrators are in negotiations with the government to buy the regional carrier out of bankruptcy in order to protect the UK’s battered aviation sector.

EY has opened talks with government officials about nationalising the airline in order to serve the UK’s loss-making regional routes.

The talks come as business secretary Alok Sharma announced that insolvency rules would be relaxed for the duration of the crisis in order to keep as many companies trading as possible.

The legislation, which will be backdated to the beginning of March – Flybe collapsed on 5 March – will allow companies “emerge intact the other side of the Covid-19 pandemic”.

EasyJet would do well to get monies back quickly to people who will have cancelled flights this summer.Their customers will think twice if they feel that they are not getting full refunds. No vouchers for other flights for unknown possibly no existent flights for next year.

Sharecast News) - Aviation services business John Menzies said on Friday that it has cut 17,500 jobs because of the coronavirus pandemic.

With the airline business hit hard by the outbreak, the company said it had made the job cuts "in response to the dramatic fall in volume".
