20/3/2020 19:51 | Commerzbank note today... 'Favour low cost carriers over legacies' In times of localisation and ongoing travel bans, particularly the intercontinental traffic is under severe political pressure. Further, business travel has basically come to a standstill which disproportionally affects legacy airlines. Yet, this has not been reflected in current valuation on 2021 forecast. Hence, we change our general preference from legacy to low-cost during this crisis. The solid funding of Ryanair and easyJet should enable them to weather the crisis without state aid as two of the few airlines in Europe. | ![]() philanderer

20/3/2020 14:14 | Everyone will have caught this eventually, you cant eradicate it, thats a “ pandemic “. For 99 per cent of people it wont cause issues, Italians said 99 per cent of deaths were in people with pre existing conditions. Well, most illnesses hit those people hardest, from normal flu to any infection. Would be better off living as normal and just letting it pass through the system, which is in reality exactly what will happen. Im in Spain at mo and they say there is a lockdown, well everyone is still out at night, Its impossible to lock down a free society, to stop people going to work etc, in the USA people wont stay in, its daft. I know the great unwashed love a drama but is it worth bankrupting every country and future generations for something is the same as normal flu basically. I would think poverty kills alot more than this will, maybe thats where the money should go..... | ![]() porsche1945

20/3/2020 13:21 | Coronavirus action plan suggestion by DC Government should legislate that: No mortgages, rent, loans, repayments, interest or taxes due are payable by individuals or businesses etc for an initial period of 3 months. Utility bills suspended for 3 months. Water Gas Electricity. Balance to be repaid over a 3 year period. All non essential businesses to close for 3 months All staff to be paid via PAYE their average monthly salary over the last 6 months up to a maximum equivalent to double statutory sick pay for 3 months. (Approximately up to £200 a week) Businesses to be repaid by government via PAYE. Airline pilots and cleaners will receive the same £200 a week to cover food and insurance premiums and will have few other expenses during the 3 month period. All staff to be given a loan of £500 through PAYE to be repaid through PAYE over a period of 3 years. Landline calls to be free for 3 months Free mobile phone calls and texting Subscription TV channels like Sky to be free for 3 months to everybody but not via internet. (only via freeview, satellite and cable) Free broadband and mobile data but limited by a weekly cap. Maximum possible without compromising service to essential services and businesses. National emergency wage of £10 an hour for temporary staff needed to work in essential services like NHS, care homes, food production and distribution. Hotels and restaurants etc to provide premises and staff, to provided food and accommodation for NHS staff to allow them to work as much as possible and to self isolate from their families if they need to. Bank of England interest rates are now 0.1% Government directly or via banks provide loans at 0.1% for 3 years to businesses to facilitate the above Government to compensate businesses for emergency response costs but not profits of providing these services. Punitive fines or imprisonment for those who commit crimes during emergency period. Burglary, fraud assault and coercion. e.g. Forcing somebody to pay rent, interest or repayments would result in a fine equal to 10x the money paid Example. A restaurant with £10k in the bank can close in April. They have no bills to pay for 3 months. Staff are not made redundant. Staff receive enough to buy food and have few other bills to pay. At the end of the 3 months the restaurant still has £10k in the bank to reopen their business. 3 months is just an example and could be extended to any necessary length of time. Just an idea. If you think it is a good idea please forward this to everybody so it can be discussed further. DC | ![]() darrin1471
